The game is still on early access, but it works well
works out of the box, with no technical difficulties (13h played)
Working fine with latest Proton
Starting it on a daily basis and everything is fine! Really! I'm serious!
Works straight out the box with Proton Experimental
--password-store=basic
If you have trouble concerning a message popup complaining about a missing wallet, add the parameter here to the launch options
-ignore-windows-system-certs
... but it's still Early Access. For me it's stable and running fine with 2,5 hours of gameplay. As of now, this is an always-on game with steam authentication! Without the -ignore-windows-system-certs parameter, the game will start but won't authenticate to Nightingale servers.
Runs really well with latest Proton 7.0-2
8 hours into the game - no problems.
there are some graphic problems with newer Proton version, but using older 6.3-8 there are no problems at all after playing 3 hours!
Game needs normal user permissions?
I've tried many Proton versions for this game, the single error the game throw out was, it needed to be run as a normal user. I've tried Wine as well, but with no success. I don't think the game has EAC or something similar, it's too small. I've also tried to run the game in a Virtualbox Windows environment, but it didn't work as well.
but first after reaching the Alliance
freezes/crashes sometimes after reaching the Alliance
I like the game, the aesthetics are great and the first 2/3 of the game is well and good. The most (technical) problems begin, when you decide to explore the Alliance at a specific point in the game. THEN the game will crash at certain points. Prepare to cry. It gets a bit better if you downgrade the graphic settings, but it doesn't go away forever. BUT, Windows users are experiencing this behaviour as well !!!
I've sunk above 100h in the game and no problems whatsoever, flawlessly working. :)
