Works like a charm.
Everything works. No crashes, no fullscreen or windowing issues. It just works.
Runs and plays like native.
Although DDLC has a bash launch script in the game files, most people won't even notice the difference between native and proton.
Proton-6.19-GE-2
Some crashing during loading (more noticeable in a Wayland session) and when alt-tabbing
Gamma/Brightness controls not working
Can't get online multiplayer to work (of course because EAC) but everything else works.
The issues I found are:
- Loading the campaign takes longer in a Wayland session (and sometimes it just outright crashes)
- Alt-tabbing or losing window focus sometimes crashes the game.
- I saw some visual artifacts in Halo 3. When looking at the distance, I could see some weird rainbow textures, but disappears when I go near it.
Runs great.
Game stuck at 60fps, even with vsync disabled and vblank_mode=0
No other issues that I can find other than the game being locked to 60fps for some weird reason.
Crashes my GPU driver on loading screen
gamemoderun %command%
Game launches, gets to the loading screen, then immediately crashed my GPU driver. My screen flickers and my desktop environment's OpenGL has completely stopped working. Tried this on both the stable and the tkg git version of mesa.
Just use the native version.
No Music
I know the native version has severe fullscreen and performance issues but, you won't get the best experience on proton anyways unless you're committed on installing dotnet stuff using protontricks xD
I have done the dotnet stuff and while it performs nicely, for absolutely no reason my game refuses to start after a few plays. Same with tModLoader. It's weird.
Hopefully Re-Logic fixes some of these issues since they have a steam deck dev kit.
The wallpaper part doesn't work, but everything else does.
The editing section, the wallpaper downloading menu and stuff works like a charm but it can't actually change the system's wallpaper.
I have found this neat project and it's the only way I can get my wallpapers to work on KDE. Tho not every feature works. https://github.com/catsout/wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin
Runs great!
On KDE the panel sometimes covers the game when alt-tabbing. Fixed by toggling fullscreen again.
In DirectX12 mode, when toggling fullscreen the game suddenly runs on 1fps. No issues with default settings.
There were issues with fullscreen and stuff but I was having a good time playing.
Refuses to start at all without installing the dotnet stuff
Game shows up an error when starting up. Installing dotnet using protontricks fixes it but for some reason tModLoader stops working after a few game launches.
Just stick with native. I know the performance suck.
