Make sure you start this game on GE-Proton9-20 or cutscenes will show the TV color bar test. But overall this game works well.
Switch to GE-Proton9-20

Green bar at the bottom of all video cutscenes. Regular gameplay was unaffected.
One crash during the second time using the headset

60fps 8w tdp
不改PROTON版本的话会在过动画遇到烦人的绿条,但是仍然可玩

GE-Proton9-11 had a minor artifact of a small green bar on the bottom of the screen during movies, but otherwise worked well. Switching to 9-23 fixes this.

I've had no problems except for crashes when I alt+tab.
I've had no problems except for crashes when I alt+tab.
I also used to play on a rtx 4060 and no difference.
This game runs perfectly with GE proton. No changes needed at all. No green bars on cutscenes as some others have reported.
Small green bar in cutscenes

Cutscenes for me did not play video, but instead showed a color test screen. Cutscene audio played fine. Have heard GE solves this issue, but have not attempted yet, so can't complain.
Everything else worked for me. Played with a DualShock 4 controller and mouse/keybaord. Have been playing at a friend's house uding his TV via HDMI. The game has frozen a few times when alt+tabbing to switch controllers when battery dies, so have learned to save often.

You'll need Proton GE or else the cutscenes are broken. Playing with a controller is also better.
Bar at the bottom of the screen during cutscenes
Sometimes input wasn't registered while on keyboard and mouse, however, playing on a controller works perfectly.

Small green bar at the bottom of cutscenes

Green bar at the bottom during cutscenes.
Without ProtonGE cutscenes are replaced by a missing texture. The game is unplayable in that state. ProtonGE fixes this.

The missing cutscene textures significantly degrade the experience.
- Cutscenes have a green bar across the bottom.
- Some cutscenes are completely missing, being replaced with a generic coloured bars and static texture. Audio is correct during this.
Keyboard inputs were not always registered, I believe this to be an issue on all platforms.

Game runs great despite being listed as "unsupported". Remember to use GE Proton to prevent startup crash.
Narrow green bar on the bottom of the screen when playing in-game movies.
Skipping the logo intro crashed the game, so I switched to GE Proton.
There's a small green bar on the bottom of the screen during movie playbacks but not a big deal, pretty ignorable.
Only encountered performance issues once so far, where dialogues with sounds or animations take a few seconds to load, fixed by restarting the game.
Completed the game and it worked flawlessly with no crashes or bugs. Played using game mode in Nobara Steam Deck Edition and Bazzite.

Sometimes kb/m inputs wouldn't register, though nothing major
Cutscenes just will not show at all on a native proton. Using GE will make them function, albeit with the green bar the other reports have mentioned.
Running the game in full screen at a resolution of 3840x2160 presents certain issues, with the game visuals appearing very blurry. This problem can be resolved by modifying the configuration file.
Open the game file directory and modify the config file:
[window]
window_mode = borderless
window_top_x = 0
window_top_y = 0
window_size_x = 3840
window_size_y = 2160
render_size_x = 3840
render_size_y = 2160
fullscreen_render_size_x = 3840
fullscreen_render_size_y = 2160
高分辨率下全屏运行存在一定问题,游戏画面看起来非常糊。可以通过修改配置文件解决这个问题。打开游戏文件夹,然后改里面的config文件即可。

TDP Limit set to 10
The game consistently crashed after the opening cinematic in the prologue and randomly throughout, but forcing Proton 7.0-6 fixed it. There is still a green bar at the bottom of cinematics, but it is small and not too distracting. I thought it was supposed to be there at first.

There's issues with kb+m controls, but that's because of the game itself and not Proton's fault.
During cutscenes there's a green bar along the bottom of the screen.
Quite often during gameplay mouse clicks and keyboard presses would stop being registered, or be delayed. It seems to happen most often during class trials. It can make the game very annoying to play sometimes, especially when it happens during one of the minigames like Argument Armament which require precise button presses. I found that going out of fullscreen and back again (Alt+Enter) helps sometimes, but not always. Apparently this also happens on Windows, so it's not Proton related, but still worth mentioning. I didn't try a controller with this game.
The game would sometimes freeze when I Alt-tabbed out of it, but not always.

Runs great, although the cutscenes have a small green bar on the bottom that is completely forgettable and do not degrade the experience.
It actually runs better on Linux, because sometimes on Windows there were problems with the audio and with the asset loading (sounds and sprites). On Linux, those are not a problem and my game is always smooth and loads fast and has audio everytime I open the game. A very nice experience overall.

TDP to 6 W
small green bar at the bottom of cutscenes
Works great, now enjoy the Miu Rule34
TDM to 10W
TDP to 7
Green bar on the bottom of cutscenes, I tried multiple protons, but it happens on all of them, so I just settled on autoselected by Valve 7.0-5
I experienced all the game modes(daily life, investigation, trial), and saw all the trial minigames on Steam Deck(including the ones that only appear in later trials). The special place from chapter 4 also runs without problems.
The stylish transition animations are choppy below 60 FPS so I choose 60. The framerate is stable everywhere outside of 3D exploration, which sometimes drops a few frames.
The only issue is the green bar, which is a little distracting, but doesn't cover enough to cut off anything important.
Everything works perfectly, including videos and using an Xbox controller
game runs fine suspend and resume work. the only problem is the small greenbar when watching cutscenes
40 hertz mode 40 fps with a tdm of 9 wil give you a stable fps
for setting up the settings you will to lauch the settings app. the font in this app is broken
there is a green bar when watching the cutscenes. (game is completely playable from start to finish)
Played the game from start to finish with no major issues. There's a green bar at the bottom of some cutscenes, but that's it.
Two times while resuming from suspend, audio was doubled.
This game is entirely playable on Steam Deck.
It's a great game, and the real only problem it's the input, as the others can be easily ignored.
Little greenbar on the bottom when videos are played.
Sometimes, certain inputs wouldn't work, and other times no input would work. This problem would last for some seconds, but it would come back frequently, until it went away for a long period of time.
Crafting on monokuma's test is not possible.
GE-Proton7-24
Changed pressing right trackpad to A button
Green bar below cutscenes
Green bar on videos
Seems to freeze if left in sleep mode for too long
Small green bar across the bottom of the screen during cut scenes. Nothing that interferes with the gameplay.
I'm only on Chapter 2 but so far I've had no real issues. Will update if anything comes up.

6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Random input drops with mouse + keyboard (don't know about controllers), but that's a problem with the game itself.
The post game Monokuma's Test crashes whenever you try to open the crafting menu. Also had the game crash once during a screen transition by pressing Esc, but I haven't been able to replicate it.
Aside from being unable to craft in Monokuma's Test, everything in the game plays perfectly, including FMVs (no green bars at all).

6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
6.21-GE-2
Managed to crash the game once when pressing Esc at the start of a screen transition (specifically exiting classroom A via the door). Have not replicated the issue since.
FMVs work perfectly with this version. Don't think I've encountered any input drops either, at least nothing as egregious as with Proton Experimental (where some textboxes will not advance at all with specific inputs). Casino minigames are working as well.
Some jank but mostly playable
FMVs do not play at all. No other graphical issues noted.
Randomly, text boxes will not advance with a particular input (e.g. Z works but left click doesn't). I only have mouse and keyboard so I don't know if this issue applies to other input methods. From what I've read, this seems to be an issue with the game itself and not Proton.
Currently using Proton Experimental.
I've also tried Proton-6.18-GE-2 since others seem to have more success with GE, but the game wouldn't launch at all. Haven't tested other versions yet.

Unless you're willing to watch all the cutscenes separately I don't recommend it.
Cutscenes won't play and will just skip. Playable but you miss out on a lot of the story.

Tested on Windows and Linux: this game has many technical flaws, but they mostly happen on both systems
6.9-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Does not launch without Glorious Eggroll (I used Proton 6.9-GE-2)
Video cutscenes have a green border at the bottom
Video cutscenes are really slow and use 100% CPU power; overall game is a tiny bit laggier than on Windows
Game sometimes crashed during certain moments in class trials
Glitch that happens on both Windows and Linux: keyboard & mouse input doesn't work half the time as is very frustrating.
Glitch that happens only on Windows?: on Windows, sometimes the game got stuck when I tried to save, and it refused to load some of my save files. I lost a few hours of progress. But Linux loads every save file just fine, have no issues with this at all.

Proton-6.5-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
small green bar at the bottom with cutscenes not too obtrusive
mouse clicks sometimes doesnt respond for a few secconds
Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
A green bar showed up on the bottom of the screen on every CGI cutscene
Keyboard and mouse inputs would sometimes not respond for at least 10 seconds. Not sure if this is a Proton problem or just a glitchy port
Game occasionally crashed for seemingly no reason
Finished the whole game using Proton-5.21-GE-1. The built in versions for Steam did not work and the game would not launch without downloading this Glorious Egroll build first.
Leaving the game running behind steam overlay on may freeze the game after some time (over 30 minutes)
