If your not on proton 6.3.8 the game flickers
I didnt test it for many hours as its on my backlog, but i did want to see if i could get it to work on Wayland.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Im using Wayland. I needed the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 else it glitches.
Runs out of the box ON X.ORG/X11. Graphic glitches on Wayland.
tbh protondb needs to add an "on wayland" option for these reports now. Like I and many others said, the game runs out of the box on X11 but on wayland it's unplayable. If you need an example as to why, see this photo I took of my screen: https://i.imgur.com/HlEGP7Y.png If links arent allowed or you simply dont want to click, then just imagine gigantic black pixels all over the main menu. This problem went away completely when switching to my x11 session.
Runs Amazing!
No complaints. Runs Great.
Game runs out of the box
Game runs great, no issues
Worksperfectly fine
Controller only worked after disabling steam input. I think the steam input was crashing because anytime i would try to get into the controller settings menu via the overlay it would try and fail to open the window for it. Haven't seen this behavior in other bandai titles so this was new.
Beyond the iniitial controller issues seems perfectly functional.
No issues found
It works out of the box
Crackling issues that are really inconsistent and difficult to reproduce; the problem disappears after some time or after a reboot. In almost 100 hours it happened something like 4-5 times.
Runs without issue out of the box.
8w TDP limit
This has been a treat to replay on my Deck!
Lowered to 6 watt TDP
Works out of the box
changed TDP to 8 with very few performance issues but your results may vary.
Be warned; I do not recommend using the built in FPS limiter. The games speed is dependent on frames, and by lower the framerate from 60 to 30 you essentially double the length of animations/cutscenes. I.E: Dialogue and voice acting in a cutscene would end but next scene would not continue until the animation has finished, leading to a good few seconds of dead silence.
Work's mostly out the box.
just force borderless window and you will be fine
Game runs fine and super fast. I recommend vkBassalt to see if there is any improvement on textures as the game has aged a bit.
FPS capped at 60
Following the story needs a big dose of patience. Fortunately, dialogues can be skipped...
As my machine is not supposed to be fast, I reduced the resolution to 720p. This makes the game playable, but the in-game movie dialogues are horribly slow (voices play at the normal rate but the images do not follow and I often get 5 seconds delay between a question and its answer).
Works out of the Box
Works perfectly, might as well be a native game
Proton-5.6-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.6-GE-2
Game runs beautifully at 60 fps. No issues. I had one freeze after an eight hour play session, but that's it, and I'm pretty sure that was a GPU driver issue.
Just enjoy.
runs at 30 fps instead of 60 fps but otherwise works perfectly (might just be hardware limitations though)
The only problem is that you need to fix your resolution every single time you play this game. Other than that runs perfectly.
Only one minor issue : news display sometimes get wrong... scrolling up and down restore it. More than 22h on the game and still no other problem.
Runs out of the box. Only issue spotted until now is display glitches on the "news" screen : text sometimes dissapear, making it scroll up or down make it show up again.
the game launches and functions fine (no missing textures, audio/controller/overlay all work, as does alt-tabbing) however the performance is lacking. steady 60FPS can be maintained in some areas but in places like the main city it can drop to as low as 23FPS, which is a big deal since as an early report stated the game logic is tied to framerate. you can mitigate this a bit by pointing the camera down to the ground, but ultimately the game needs some work before it can be considered gold/platinum.
Only issue I have run into is if I crank the graphics up all the way, the game is too laggy to play but the defaults work fine. Secondly, only issue other than that, is when you are on the "The World" login screen the menu is messed up but anyone who has played the game before knows the menu so it isn't hard to work around this 1 little issue where everything else works perfectly.
Haven't seen any issues so far, performance is great seeing as I'm running on a pretty low end card
No hack, no particular bugs, nothing to report. Can't judge perf compared to windows, but seem fixed at 60fps without a problem.
Subtitles have uneven black background. Minor fps drops.
Needed to install xaudio2_0 through xaudio2_9 for sound to work.
Very minor graphical glitches -- text characters not in dialog boxes aren’t transparent, and the display flickers when scrolling through news posts. It’s annoying, but still readable. The options to go to the forums or the site appear graphically glitched / not fully readable. Massive frame drops if Steam BPM is on; without it, though, a constant 60 FPS. Very much so playable -- ran through a couple of hours of it so far just fine.
