All the issues I've experienced go away if I close the game and restart. It seems that if I don't wait for the Skip button to appear in the opening movie and press escape the mouse issues happen. If I let the Skip button appear and click it, there are no mouse issues. The sound issues only happened a few times. The performance issues only happened once. I started the game and it was lagging really bad, but again, a restart completely fixed it.
I played for about 20 hours with Proton with no issues. All of a sudden it stopped launching. It would process the Vulkan shaders, and then immediately crash. I had to reinstall and revert to Proton 8.0-5 to get it to work again.
I have no idea why it suddenly started crashing on startup. Ubuntu downloaded some updates recently, which may have something to do with it. But it's working again after switching to 8.0-5.
Even though it freezes for me, many others report no issues. And if you stick to 1.1.6 or lower it seems to be more stable.
The video will hard freeze after a random amount of time. This is unrecoverable - I have to shut it down in Steam and restart. Sometimes it happens on the main menu, but usually it happens after the game loads while on the map, in the Trade screen, the Smithy screen, or the map. It very rarely will freeze while in a battle. It immediately freezes when I press F12 to take a screenshot. When the video freezes, the audio continues to play. It can take anywhere from a few seconds after loading to many minutes or over an hour before the freeze happens. These issues only started with version 1.2.x. I had no issues with 1.1.6 or earlier versions. I also have these issues with the perf_test and perf_test_beta beta versions. I also discovered that if I reboot for some reason it will take longer before it freezes the first time.
