Touchpad on my system was not recognized as a mouse in the game. It works fine on the system otherwise.
When I was using 9.0.4, I was not able to use an empty profile to start from the beginning. The game hung and repeated indefinitely one second of an audio clip.
Using the Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout), the game did not send audio to my BT earbuds but only on the laptop speakers. Using ProtonDB 9.0.4, the game seemed to load an play fine except that it didn't recognize my touchpad. Using Proton Forced Experimental, the game loaded and played fine, audio was on my BT earbuds, but my touchpad was still not recognized. Haven't tried a BT mouse yet, but I'm guessing that will work fine.

Headphone audio not working
Audio was only going to the internal speakers, even though all other sounds were going to my headphones.
I found this link with instructions on how to set the audio device directly. The paths on the Deck are somewhat different, and I don't have it in front of me, but you can find the files by opening your file explorer, showing hidden files, navigating into the .steam
folder, then searching from there for FMODDriver
.
I tried following the directions to look in DebugLog.txt
but the file remained empty. FMODDriver.txt
simply had a 0
in it. As a guess, I tried changing the 0
to 1
and restarted the game, and the audio now goes to the headphones!
All audio only goes to the internal speakers even if headphones are connected unless FMODDriver.txt
is edited.
Non-native game with Proton launches and headphone audio works, but it crashes when attempting to reset progress on a save slot, so there's a chance it would also crash when starting a brand new game.
It Just Works™

no issues
game ran with no issues

Only an hour or so in, but the gameplay loop is addictive. As long as the launch issues are not a dealbreaker, there is a lot to enjoy here.
-x 1280 -y 720
Under 'Change settings', select winxp
The game ran perfectly and I had a perfect gaming experience when playing handheld. It was when I wanted to play in docked mode that the issues started.
I first set the x and y values using the launch options mentioned here. Once I did this, the game worked docked in desktop mode - unfortunately the controller was not detected natively so it was on to gaming mode.
Sadly, this was even worse as the game wouldn't even launch; the steam logo would spin indefinitely. What ended up working for me here was to go to the game preferences in Steam, and under "Compatibility" check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool". I selected "Proton Experimental". Now the funny thing is, this did not work at first; but I de-selected the compatibility checkbox and tried a hail-mary. To my complete surprise it worked perfectly.
Force the game to run in a pre-defined aspect ratio as in the launch options mentioned here.
The controller was not detected in desktop mode, but it was flawless in gaming mode.
Since I do not own the game on Steam (my copy is from the Epic Games Store), I probably encountered a lot more issues than someone who owned a Steam copy. Having said that, these tweaks enabled me to have a good experience both docked and in handheld mode, albeit only in gaming mode.

Playable all the way through. No audio problems either, using wired headphones or built in speakers

Native can't run. Proton can't run either :/
setxkbmap -layout us -model pc105 && %command% ; setxkbmap -layout us,latam -variant dvorak, -model pc105 -option "grp:win_space_toggle"
A C# exception is handled, so I'm not sure what is going on exactly. This is a masterpiece and it pains me that I can't run it.

I had to set compatibility to Windows XP using winecfg

legal
meu computador antigo enfrentava problemas, mas agora funciona normal

-x 1280 -y 720
runs above 60 hz/fps @ 6-7 watts. used reddit tweak to run screen up to 70hz. game seems to have cap @ 68 fps for some reason.
game is designed for big screen
default audio devicee not respected. turn desired audio device on and off or replug to fix after game has loaded.
use x and y to set resolution below 800p to allow for viewport scaling via QAM. game does not like losing focus and will reset to 1024x768 if you do so. BEWARE!!!

run com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl --no-gui --no-sandbox "heroic://launch/legendary/Dill"
Works after changing compatibility settings to Windows XP in Heroic Games Launcher.
In Desktop Mode game freezes whole OS on loading screen, on Game Mode game freezes after changing app and it needs to be closed through Steam layer.
To run Epic Store version, you need to change compatibility layer to Proton Experimental and compatibility settings to Windows XP on Heroic Games Launcher and add game to steam through Heroic Launcher with compatilbility layer disabled on Steam.
The game after run it in Dekstop mode freezes whole OS Works fine on Game mode, but freezes permanently after changing it to other app and needs to be closed through Steam layer.

Sound does not work from scratch. I needed to change audio device.
Found the solution here : https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Transistor#OS_X.2FLinux_audio_missing
TLDR :
- for me, the text file was here : ~/.steam/steam/userdata//237930/local/FMODDriver.txt
- modify the file with a single digit (you should use the command
aplay --list-devices
but this didn't work for me, so I tested all the digits until it worked)

[Lutris] Game works really well when launched directly from its file instead of Steam's default.
Game on Steam, but changing the launch file to the steamapps/common/Transistor/Transistor
file launches the game normally.
a steam age como se o gogo estivesse rodando, mas ele nunca abre
Steam installs the game using proton, which can cause issues with the controller. I forced the native version using Steam-Play-None and now it works, 60fps. The easy way to do this is with ProtonUp-Qt.
Game keeps crashing on startup for me.
Tried prior versions of proton, as well as various launch options.
The steam log is showing this:
[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'OpenTK.Platform.Windows.WinGLContext' threw an exception. ---> OpenTK.Graphics.GraphicsModeException: The requested GraphicsMode is not supported at OpenTK.Platform.Windows.WinGraphicsMode.SelectGraphicsMode (OpenTK.Graphics.ColorFormat color, System.Int32 depth, System.Int32 stencil, System.Int32 samples, OpenTK.Graphics.ColorFormat accum, System.Int32 buffers, System.Boolean stereo) [0x00068] in <99a181a88d064c1ea8ac3d7855e86d37>:0
I was unable to find any similar situations through a google search. So it may just be my unique situation.
I'm only in the early stages of the game, but so far it's been perfectly fine out of the box.

changed compatibility to windows xp

Got it from epic, used heroic, initially it didn't launch at all, need to set the windows compatibility to XP then it runs flawlessly. Or just get it from steam so you don't have to do anything.

FPS Drops in opening area when encountering enemies with lots of effects. Also had drops down to 15 fps when using the "B" button ability. Game is generally in the 50-60fps range when out of combat
Game is Owned on Epic Games Store. Installed via Lutris. Game WILL NOT OPEN unless you go into the Wine Configuration, and change the Windows setting to "Windows XP" (it is a drop down at the bottom of the wine config window).

Had to turn headphones off then on again to hear any audio
Need to replug headphone after launch to get audio to play
Only native version works. If you don't have the game on steam then the game just crash on start with proton/wine
Played the whole game on steam deck, handheld mode, without any problems. Works out of the box stable 60 fps, no drops and battery life is good as well(4h+)
40/40 refresh/fls limit 3 watt TDP
Saddly the game does not support 16:10 - there are black bars on top and bottom of the screen
LD_PRELOAD="/usr/lib64/libasound.so.2" %command%
Could not launch game Natively or through Proton (Epxeriemental or 7.0) without the launch option. Found this fix from https://steamcommunity.com/app/237930/discussions/2/598199244889493815/#c412447613566488486

Installed using herioc launcher. Game installs, attempts to run, but play button resets after a few secs.
Haven't tried the native version. Playing through Proton has been flawless.
Did not launch with latest Experimental Proton. Launches and runs fine with v7.03.
Native linux and Windows versions will not launch
Native Linux - Press Play, nothing happens and the game won't stop unless you force quite Steam
Windows Version - Press Play then a few seconds later the game stops and nothing happens. Tried Proton 7 down to 3 and same thing.
Sometimes, when launched, no audio is output from the game.
Doesn't play any audio when headphones are plugged in
Given how beautiful the music is, not having audio is a major detractor

Not able to launch. I tried using regular proton, older versions and GE proton.
