If youre fine with 40fps youll probably enjoy the game.
Could not get above 45 fps, even with all settings at minimum and framerate uncapped. FPS would periodically drop to the low 20s.
It appears the developers have ceased active development on this game, so dont expect any improvements on their end. Any performance boosts will come from proton or wine.
game runs seemingly flawlessly out of box following its full 1.0 release on steam
I played a new single player game for 30 minutes with no issues. Some dialog audio was at times quieter than other sounds and difficult to hear (but subtitled). Tested with 2560x1440 at 100hz refresh and fullscreen. I did not test alt-tabbing or multiplayer.
If you have poor performance, check the game settings. They default to max with vysnc on.
While the game does run, the performance is pretty bad. If you can tolerate it then play it.
Occasionally crashes when alt-tabbing
Can't sustain a framerate over 48FPS at 1080p / 40 FPS at 1440p, along with constant stuttering while playing.
Crashes when alt-tabbing
I've only played for a while to test it works and it does!
As I say, I've only played for a few minutes but enjoy the game. It's very much like Subnautica in the first few minutes. I had no issues with FPS but to be fair, I didn't build a massive factory so I don't know if that could cause issues. Anyway, it looks promising and have no intent not to play the game more.
No issues, just runs! Factory gamers love to see it.
In a 6 hour session I noted two instances of audio crackling/static which quickly recovered. Near the end of the session one instance of doubled audio was noted, which also recovered in moments.
Generaly minor frame drops related to graphics settings and area complexity.
Honestly, this early-access game runs better than any early access title I've tried in the past 4 years...
I was expecting many issues just based on reports here. No such drama though. Everything actually just worked. No launch options, no explicit proton settings. (so steam's default proton if anything here)
I have not tried out multi-player yet, and am actually looking forward to it.
I wouldn't say that the game is playable straight out of the box. It's too early and the game needs to be optimized.
30 FPS Lock, res scale 80%. 1h30m game time on LCD
FPS drops to ~20 at starting location.
Loads, but cannot be played
On clicking 'new game' in main menu, game crashed on the loading screen
Failed to launch with proton 8.0-4
Nothing at all happened after clicking play.
Failed to launch with default settings on PC with AMD graphics
Proton Experimental (default compatibility settings): Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed
Does not work with Proton 8.0-4
Game does not launch. On three occasions (but not all attempts) I received a missing DirectX error:
Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed
Note: I did not try savegames yet, the GPU on this machine is a bit underpowered and it's (expectedly) slow. Proton Experimental (the default for this game) does not seem to work right now on this machine.
Installation was successful, game never appeared after clicking 'play' and there was no sound from it either.

This game runs perfectly with default settings
gamescope -w 2560 -h 1440 -W 3840 -H 2160 -F fsr -- gamemoderun mangohud %command%
15 FPS on lowest settigs
There was some kind of mouse acceleration going on, where I would turn much faster than my sensitivity settings implied. Enabling and disabling mouse input smoothing did not fix this.
Major frame hiccups - the game runs fast on all settings, but occassionally it would hang for whole seconds, even on low.
Crashes when alt-tabbed.
Make sure you have the latest nvidia-gl-G06 drive installed. I was on nvidia-glG05 (driver version 470*). Proton can't provide a working DirectX 11 environment in this case.
Great on desktop, poor performance on steam deck.
Even on the lowest settings it struggles to reach 30 FPS.
Some menus are very small, no way to resize
Runs great out of the box, only issue is text can be very difficult to read especially in menus. Battery life around 2hrs on max settings with no tweaks.
gamemoderun %command%
a couple problems when switching graphics but i suspect this is due to early access
mouse acceleration? was a bit choppy but some settings changes helped.
Seems to work pretty well and good for a game that released today!
Just intall & click play, no tinkering needed.
Just released on Early Access - now plays ** great ** on Steamdeck.
limited to 30 fps in steam GUI. Turned down some in game graphics options but left textures at max.
Kinda Subnautica meets Satisfactory. Super pretty and solid.
gamemoderun %command%
Fun times
Might be texture artifacts due to requiring lowest settings
Plays well so far, most glitches seem to be early access and/or my anemic hardware related
Funktioniert einwandfrei. Installieren, starten, fertig.
Steam hat automatisch Proton experimentell benutzt. Funktioniert einwandfrei.
Scaling of some parts of UI and text is quite broken, for example in icon indicating B button on controller the letter B is 6x2 pixel and looks like K
In it`s current state I would call the game unplayeble on SteamDeck, lot of text in game is between hardly readable to completely unreadable.
Works out of the box. Had to reduce some graphics effects to get a playable framerate with my rtx2080
Works like a charm
it dint not now i use a controler in te beginging later it dit
I was able to start the demo but framerate was like 10fps. Not playable, way too sluggish.
Uninstalled.
Out of the box compatibility
Lost a frame here and there but that is more likely due to the game being in early development, rather than any Linux incompatibility.
It run like a charme out of the box on Linux
Test done on the demo version v0.0.3 windowed 1920x1080
