Origin crashes on first install, forcing Proton Experimental is needed for first launch of game.
I used the launcher to switch to windowed borderless, since I saw that for some people fullscreen caused issues, but the game worked great. Played 2 full matches with no crash.
I also played the Steam version.
Used the steps as indicated by Cheeseman McCheese

Without changes to the .ini the game would start but crash after some seconds.
I had to run Lutris->EA-App->FIFA 21 to get proper Controller support. It took a long time and it was weird. What a mess.
Disable DX12/VK3D. It'll crash on startup "GPU DX12 hangup". DXVK works fine enough.
For some reason, on some startups there was no menu at all except top navigation tabs. You could hear sound when switching menu tiles/items but it was completely buggy.
These issues arrive simply because FIFA is a mess under the hood. You'll notice a lot of the same issues (bad startup, undetected controller etc.) on Windows as well.
The amount of tinkery is going to drop off most people. Only people who want to fix it because of the challenge and casual enjoyment of playing FIFA will fix it/try it. These aren't Linux specific problems. Most of the issues exist on Windows 10 as well. EA does not care, period.
Single Player Works Fine
Unless you want to mess with files and change values every time you launch the game, you cannot play multiplayer, this is a common issue with Windows too, DirectX Error - Graphics Drivers Crash.
Single Player works fine. Xbox Controller is working. Multiplayer not working, you will get a desync after a few seconds in the game

It works out of the box, i don't have any issue with the origin.
There are some glitches in the menu and cutscenes.
Can't even finish a match, totally unplayable
Opens as a normal window even if chosen Full Screen in the Settings. Have to mouse click once to turn the window full screen
The controller only works occasionally. If you can control using the controller on start, you're fine with it. But if you can't, better restart the game to try again until it works.
Can't even finish one match, save can't be tested
The game runs smooth in the menu part, but will crash randomly when you're in match. Can't even finish one match because it simply freezes my laptop and needs to power off & restart the laptop manually .
Just a Black window
Was able to install it and open. FIFAConfig opens but the FIFA21.exe just opens a black window and stays like that.
Works with few modifications, but the controller does not work for me
I could install, and run the game, which started the origin launcher, I could login to it, and then I could press play to start the game, but that completely crashed my computer, and the screen got into power saving mode. I had to edit :
.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1313860/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My\ Documents/FIFA\ 21/fifasetup.ini
and have those values in it :

Once this was done, the game could be started from Steam directly, and it works fine, but the controller does not work for me.
Run pretty fine but there is still the Origin crap. I wasn't able to play online, it failed after match making

there's some flickering in the background of the main menu. it's only a visual nuisance and doesn't hinder the player's control.
the aspect ratio was weird one time i launched it and when i alt-tab, it's glitchy for a little while and then fixes itself.
He modificado el "config.ini" de /home/USUARIO/.steam/root/steamapps/common/FIFA 21/FIFASetup/config.ini y he cambiado fifa21.exe a FIFA21.exe en mayuscula y ya no crashea.
El online te corta la conexion aleatoriamente. Puedes jugar 2 seguidos completos y que al tercero te eche, o jugar 2 y que te eche en ambos a la primera. Squad Battles no tiene ese fallo.
Le jeu s'installe et fonctionne bien avec . Un freeze s'est produit une fois mais cela ne s'est pas reproduit.
Je n'ai pas testé le jeu en ligne. Le lancement est peu long sur ma machine, bien attendre. Testé avec Proton-6.8-GE-1.

No se abre.
Se instala origin pero no consigue ejecutar el juego, he probado a cambiar el DIRECTX_SELECT=1 en el archivo fifasetup.ini y he tratado de cambiar esto LAUNCH_EXE = fifa21.exe a LAUNCH_EXE = FIFA21.exe en config.ini, en el mismo archivo probe a añadir AUTO_LAUNCH = 1 pero sencillamente no se abre.
Se puede jugar normalmente, si vienes de DX12 si notarás diferencia y tambien si vienes de mas de 60fps, menú presenta lentitud
comparándolo con windows (DX12) en Manjaro tengo que ponerlo en DX11 ya que se queda colgado en la pantalla de FIFA21, dentro del juego se nota la diferencia entre DX12 de windows y DX11 de Manjaro
Lentitud en el menú, ya estando en el juego se podría decir que se puede jugar bien

Getting this game to work was a nightmare. I installed Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST and set it as default compatibility tool for the game. I was able to install Origin, but nothing happened afterwards. I followed the guide on https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/4234#issuecomment-724983058 and put the python script in the protonfixes directory. After it installed some things, it got to the fifa launcher menu. I changed some settings and closed the launcher (as nothing would happen if I clicked Play) and added the line DIRECTX_SELECT=1 line to the fifasetup.ini file. Then I opened the config.ini file (you can find this one in your SteamLibrary folder where Fifa 21 was installed: FIFA 21/FIFAsetup) changed the line LAUNCH_EXE = fifa21.exe to LAUNCH_EXE = FIFA21.exe (apparently works better in caps) and added the line AUTO_LAUNCH = 1 to disable the launcher. I was then finally able to play it... mostly.
Navigating through the menu is the worst thing ever. For whatever reason the game thinks I have two controllers installed (Even though I am just using one) and constantly switches between two menu items without me even touching my controller. Once you figure out the timing and manage to start a game, it runs flawlessly. During the actual gameplay I haven't had any issues with my controller. I suspect that the game thinks that the RGB controller on my motherboard is an actual controller, causing the menu spasms. So it seems I am alone with this problem. Gosh darn it, ASRock.
Once you get it up and running it works really well. Controllers, multiplayer, whatever... all works fine

After following the steps outlined in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/4234#issuecomment-724983058 the game runs smoothly. I haven't tested online yet, but I've had no issue connecting to the EA servers.
