I've had a freak incident once when the audio was just not there for some reason, restarting the game fixed it though.
I didn't even bother with the default proton version, just went with the one people recommend for this game - seems to work fine, so am just sticking with it. Installing the adult patch was somewhat easy, just had to put the patch installer in the same location as the game .exe, then double clicked it and wine just did everything, installed it just fine.

I've tried Proton Experimental
, and GE-Proton9-21
, and they all have bugs such as title screen background breaking, or videos not working. Surprisingly, GE-Proton9-4
works instead of GE-Proton9-21
. I didn't try any other versions.
Also, I didn't need to install xact
or need any wine configurations or launch options as stated in the other reports. Everything works perfectly out of the box.

PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
xact and patch by placing it in the folder and running the patch through protontricks
X mapped to A key for auto
45hz and 3tdp
There is no cloud save, to copy or delete the save file, open save folder at the launch window, then steam button to switch back to the main game. Use steam button to exit game to fully close the game or when select the window, x to close the tab.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
xact
40hz refresh rate, 20fps
opening song didn't play
without tinkering the game freezes after a few seconds
as others said you need to have PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% in launch options and xact from protontricks for the game to work properly.
I couldn't get the adult content patcher exe to work on linux with wine so I would recommend prepatching on windows and transfering and overwriting the files to your deck.
if you are a brainlet (like me) you can add xact through the protontricks interface in desktop mode protontricks -> you and me and her -> select the default wineprefix -> install a windows dll or component -> scroll to the bottom and check xact (I chose 32 bit, not sure if there any major differences) -> go back to gaming mode -> properties ->compability -> check the box for "force the use of a specific [...]" -> GE-Proton7-55 (of course the version (7-55) could varry)
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
From a shell call the protontricks command with the game id and the xact action
Runs perfectly, just remember: 1 - Install proton GE
2 - Install protontricks
3 - Run the action xact on the game
4 - Select proton GE with the PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %commands% in the launch options
5 - Have fun!
Works perfectly once you do the protontricks and ESYNC stuff. Videos work with Proton GE.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
protontricks 1293820 xact
Changed the B button to the Backlog
TDP to 3 Watts, GPU Clock to 200MHz
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
For those unfamiliar, you need to run this command in the command line, nothing to do in the protontricks GUI
protontricks 1293820 xact
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
protontricks 1293820 xact
Anywhere between 5 seconds and a minute into the game it freezes/crashes

Out of the box, it doesn't work at all
With the current Proton version, all I get is a black screen after booting up the game. I tested Proton 5.13 too: with it, the game starts but freezes a few seconds into the initial scene.

Proton-6.8-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Just like my previous report, install xact using:
protontricks 1293820 xact
Then.. using winecfg, install all the required dlls.
- xactengine (2_0 -> 3_7)
- xapofx (1_1 -> 1_5)
- xaudio (2_0 -> 2_7)
- x3daudio (1_0 -> 1_7)
Now just hit play.
Obs: I honestly don't know what changed between my Manjaro and my Arch that caused so much trouble.. but I hope that with these reports, you can find a variation of my solutions to find a way to install the game in whatever distro you may be using.
First install 'xact'
using
protontricks 1293820 xact
Then, I used winecfg, to install the xact .dll into the wineprefix
To be more precise, I installed the libraries
xactengine2.0 to xactengine3.7 , xaudio2.0 to xaudio2.7, x3daudio1.0 to x3daudio 1.7 and xapofx1.1 to xapofx1.5
Finally, I copied all the .dll files from the game's folder, and move to the 'system32' folder in my wineprefix
In my previous report, the game still crashes, but you could play it just by saving frequently. Now I played the game fully, without any bugs or crashes.
To solve this issue, I used
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=150 %command%
In the Steam's launcher options of the game

You can still enjoy the game, you just have to pass the crashes that happens occasionally
Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST GloriousEggroll
First I installed "xact" just like the previous reports
protontricks 1293820 xact
Then, I used winecfg, to install the xact .dll into the wineprefix
To be more precise, I installed the libraries
xactengine2.0 to xactengine3.7 and xaudio2.0 to xaudio2.7
To finalize, I copied all the .dll files from the game folder, and move to the 'system32' folder in my wineprefix
Still, the game still crashes sometimes, but you can still play nevertheless.
Just remember to save the game frequently.
Again, remember to save the game frequently, you can still play the game
Game launcher starts but when I start the game, black window appears for a few seconds and then it crashes

Installed xact
Game crashes right at the end of the intro with the stairs. Requires using the skip option to get past crash point.
Then it crashed again about 20 min later.
Installing xact DLL fixes freezing briefly after starting the game
protontricks 1293820 xact
