After fixing the game not launching problem, the game starts and then runs without issues with the patch installed.

It seems that by default Steam calls the boot.bat file, which does not work on Linux.
Committee of Zero patch fixes this by making Steam launch the .exe file instead. If for some reason you won't install the patch (you should really install it as it improves the game in many ways), ran these commands in the game's install folder to fix the issue: mv boot.bat old_boot.bat ln -s launcher.exe boot.bat And you also might need to set the game's launch options to "EN" as noted by others.
Game runs fine after disabling "Mouse Lock". I did not experienced any save problems, performance issues or crashes.
Until disabling "Mouse Lock" option, attempting to Alt-Tab out of fullscreen can lock you out of being able to do anything, since the game will continue intercepting mouse and keyboard inputs even when its minimised
The game is absolutely unplayable with the mouse due to the massive lag generated until you uncheck the "Mouse Lock" option. As soon as you uncheck it, the game runs and controls as expected, without issues.
Aside from rare crashes, there are no other significant problems. The game is fully playable.
It is not possible to Alt-Tab out of fullscreen mode - the screen will just flicker between the game and desktop constantly
"Mouse Lock" option option must be disabled to avoid game freezing and input lag. Without disabling it the game is unplayable with the mouse.
When playing with a mouse any controllers must be disconnected, to avoid the game freezing periodically and skipping a bunch of frames.
The game can some times crash when entering a new room. Out of 18 hours that I played, this happened around 3 times, so it is quite rare. Crashes did not lead to loss of progress, each time I was able to resume the run from the same point it crashed.

Game crashes right at the end of the intro with the stairs. Requires using the skip option to get past crash point.
Then it crashed again about 20 min later.
