opening video doesn't play and just flashes a strange color screen for a few seconds instead if you are idling in the main menu too long, on some bootups the controller doesn't want to work at all (strangely if you change it to have keyboard input instead it works so I guess just don't touch anything while it's booting up?) but is easily fixed by just rebooting the game. other than that it works great out of the box
when you first boot it up the resolution is set to low option (been a while since I installed so I don't recall what it was by default) but you can fix that easily by just going to settings > pc settings and bumping the resolution to 800p 60hz to match the deck. do not lower the frame rate limit, it might seem enticing since it's primarly a visual novel but lowering it also makes every movement slow down a lot
other than that I don't have any complaints and it works fine
works out of the box on steamdeck, I haven't had any issues on medium and hard difficulty. I would recommend going to customization > game control config > melody icon display > yxab to match the steamdecks buttons
put the TDP to 4w
as others mentioned you do want to put some power limits and adjust settings a bit but it will work just fine out of the box, I had a occasional bug where default controller suddenly stopped working and had to rebind the deck's buttons to keyboard input (happened twice through the game (just simply resetting the game fixed it))
plays great out of the box but I switched graphics to medium and limited the deck to 40hz to get a more silent fan experience. I couldn't uninstall while in gaming mode and had to jump to desktop mode to get it uninstalled (apparently because a window asking if I want to keep save files didn't appear while in gaming mode)
crashes after roughly 15-20 minutes of gameplay
initially I thought it might have just been some cg that screwed over proton but no the game just straight up crashes after 15-20 minutes of playing no matter where you are
works great out of the box, select the 1080x768 option and full screen, I couldn't get the adult content patcher exe to work with wine so I would recommend saving yourself from the hassle and just prepatching on windows and transfering and overwriting the files to your deck
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
xact
40hz refresh rate, 20fps
opening song didn't play
without tinkering the game freezes after a few seconds
as others said you need to have PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% in launch options and xact from protontricks for the game to work properly.
I couldn't get the adult content patcher exe to work on linux with wine so I would recommend prepatching on windows and transfering and overwriting the files to your deck.
if you are a brainlet (like me) you can add xact through the protontricks interface in desktop mode protontricks -> you and me and her -> select the default wineprefix -> install a windows dll or component -> scroll to the bottom and check xact (I chose 32 bit, not sure if there any major differences) -> go back to gaming mode -> properties ->compability -> check the box for "force the use of a specific [...]" -> GE-Proton7-55 (of course the version (7-55) could varry)
