Without tweaks the game crashes to desktop after showing black screen.
I followed another users suggestion and downloaded the 64-bit binaries from here: http://www.playground.ru/files/crysis_origin_and_steam_64bit_fix-174316/
Then make sure you have protontricks, winetricks and wine installed and ran:
protontricks 17300 -q d3dcompiler_43
In Launch options I disable Esync as I read Crysis doesn't like it, I haven't tried the new Fsync yet.
Game runs pretty well, getting 80-100fps @ 1440p on high settings.
Game installs and runs with latest Proton Experimental. I haven't tested it extensively, but it appears to run well so far.
Works perfectly
I'm sure it works fine with DirectX, but I chose OpenGL from the settings. Runs smooth as you would expect from an old game.
It's a great Diablo-esque RPG. Well worth playing, the controller support is pretty good from what little I've played it on the steam deck
Works OOTB great.
Choose x64 launcher for best performance.
By default some of the text is cut off the top and bottom in your inventory.
If you go into Options -> Video -> UI Scale and drop it down 1 notch everything will fit on screen.
There are plenty of keybindings to remember, it's worth hitting the Steam button and checking out the controller settings to get familiar with them.
Installs and runs fine with latest Proton Experimental. Haven't played through the game, but did a quick Arcade game and seems to run fine.
Works perfectly without tweaks. Although I seem to lose access to the Steam Overlay unless I run it with D9VK. Using PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 I get a solid 144fps @ 1440p with vsync on and highest settings.
Works perfectly smooth out of the box, sometimes get the odd mini pause when a new effect is being played, but it's barely noticeable. I'm using Valve's ACO for AMD GPU's + fsync kernel. Mostly getting ~144fps @1440p
Plays like a native game.. + tip for people struggling to launch game.
Once I fixed the issue below, the game runs perfectly like a native game. (I think its a general steam bug to do with old proton prefixes.)
Issue: If you could launch the game before and now the game won't start.
Possible Fix: delete the games prefix directory: "/your_path_to_steam/steamapps/compatdata/210970" - Now try to launch the game again. Steam should set up a fresh prefix folder and launch the game.
