Input latency was not great untill I added that launch option and it basically fixed all issues that I had
The game does run with proton experimental but as long as you have a proton GE version thats higher than 7-5 its way better
gamemoderun mangohud DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_NVAPI_DRIVER_VERSION=49729 DXVK_NVAPI_ALLOW_OTHER_DRIVERS=1 LFX=1 %command%
Added latency flex dlls and shared objects to the prefix and configured my proton to have it as well.
Game does not run due to unity's decision to move from openVR to openXR.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Either run an older version of the game like Quinten said, or wait till proton supports it.
Used to run great then started having problems and now won't launch
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
The game used to work OTB, but then after a couple playthoughs the game will slow down to around 8fps when you are using the camera. Now it won't even launch, just shows a blank launch screen. Tried GE and non GE and still won't launch. Although I could reset the prefix, it will just happen again.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
After some time of using the camera, the game will degrade and eventually be locked around 8 fps and becomes unplayable. You will have to restart
My other report was wrong, I thought it wouldn't launch but it just takes longer than usual to launch.
Works great OTTB, recommend the following launch options for AMD, but you can use theme without it. Expected from a valve game on Linux
RADV_FORCE_VRS=2x2 RADV_PERFTEST="dccmsaa,sam,nircache,transfer_queue" gamemoderun mangohud obs-gamecapture %command% -nojoy -threads 16
There is a wiki for some optimization with deadlock on Linux here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3316773673
Tried almost everything on the list, didn't work on GE proton or 8.0-3 proton either
mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=0 VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv,dxr %command%
Guess I'll be playing this on windows for a while
I had to reinstall my OS for this game to work but I think that its my fault and I probs broke it but it basically worked out of the box
mangohud %command%
Trying to use my G920 with oversteer worked except for the clutch. When the clutch is enabled in the difficulty settings, its always down and the car doesn't move, regardless the gear
Dont use gamemode with this game becuase that caused my game to crash no more than 3 minutes in
Beamng drive works with the clutch, I tested this with fedora too and the clutch still didn't work
gamemoderun mangohud obs-gamecapture SteamDeck=1 %command%
I used obs-gamecapture to record some footage of the game. Been working great so far.
gamemoderun mangohud %command% -d3d12
During the mollie chase sequence, you would freeze and inevitably die but after that it was fine.
I would also advise not to use lumen as it ruins the atmosphere of the game a lot (making the environment way brighter than it should). I used SSR and it was more enjoyable for me.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
I installed the game on a separate drive and when I was connecting to a game, it would get stuck on 99%. I installed it on my root drive, and it worked after that. I think it's a game issue because there is a whole forum about this issue.
AMD Frame Gen makes your frame time consistency incredibly inconsistent and the low latency mode is disabled, but this can probs be worked around
gamemoderun mangohud DXVK_ASYNC=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 LFX=1 %command%
I changed the prefix for latencyflex
The long launch command is for DLSS and latencyflex (Nvidia reflex) support but it will work fine without these, just you wont have the extra features
7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Used protonGE https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
gamemoderun mangohud DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Because my gpu has only 8GB of vram (thanks nvidia), it cant run textures at full without my vram filling up, but on windows I can run on full with barely enough vram
Running this game on vr with alvr is impossible right now and its not the developers fault, but how proton interacts with openXR on linux is really broken rn
If you happy with the decreased texture quality and no vr, you will like this game. But its a shame openXR is incredibly broken for nvidia proton rn
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
On max settings, I couldn't get past around 60 fps while on windows I could reach 144 or close easy with my hardware. I think this is because this gpu is still new and not fully utilized on linux yet. Hopefully linux kernel 7.x.x will help
Although the game ran great on my nvidia card although I was running out of VRAM so I think its just a linux driver thing
Doesn't need any of the launch commands but PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 definitely helps frametimes
mangohud gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Running 1080p resolution made the game not very smooth even though the frame times were perfect (Must be a gamemaker issue) but since it doesn't matter, turning the resolution all the way down fixed this issue and it became smooth again with no visual changes.
Pizzilion/10
Game runs really good, almost native to windows but crashes on older hardware more frequently
7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton GE https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Occasional crashes but I can get about a 20 min - 1 hour of gameplay
I have been crashing every so often with this game on Linux with my 1060, but my friend with a 3050 and a 3060 on separate computers has had no problems running the game.
Game runs great with my old hardware and fsr makes it even better for me to enjoy the game with good graphics
MANGOHUD=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dxgi=n,b PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% -adapter 0 -vulkan -width 1506 -height 847 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -cpuLoadRebalancing -ignorepipelinecache
One one time that I did play online was really good
You have to edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and add Option "Interactive" "0" to the Section "Device" section and that should fix all the crashes in the game
Tried running it on proton 6.3.7, proton experimental ( + bleeding edge), and protonGE 6.21-GE-2 but no luck on all of them
Broke after the last command "Game 700330 method call count for IClientUser::GetSteamID : 1"
mangohud gamemoderun WINEFSYNC=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Just enabled "Automatically capture mouse in full-screen widows" to fix the radial menu issue but didn't seem to have an effect. Going in a circle around the radial menu and spamming the button or just keybinding works fine enough.
Works just like native windows with game chat, and connecting working flawlessly.
If you have an amd gpu and you notice input latency, you will need to disbale freesync if you have it enabled and use fsync, makes the game REALLY smooth for screen tearing (But even that is very unnotciable). Async makes the game smooth, via not waiting for objects to fully process before diplaying them. Gamemode is just a gui for displaying system information while playing and gamemode adds some modifications on startup to optimize your system.
gamemoderun mangohud DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_NVAPI_DRIVER_VERSION=49729 DXVK_NVAPI_ALLOW_OTHER_DRIVERS=1 LFX=1 %command%
I did add the latency flex dlls to the prefix but im not even sure if it reduces latency sense it doesn't have nvidia relfex support but seems like it.
Multiplayer is excelent and had no problems talking or connecting to servers, sometimes crashes after 2 hours but I think thats a server issue sense it happens to me on windows too.
Without the latency flex commands it would just be gamemoderun mangohud DXVK_ASYNC=1
New EAC breaks the game
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Tried to manually reinstall eac through the prefix with no success
I only got it to work once, and since then it hasn't worked. Keep on getting "EAC detected local file integrity violation" and "Pure virtual function being called while application was running" errors. I've tried switching proton versions, reinstalling EAC proton runtime, reinstalling the game and nothing has worked.
gamemoderun mangohud %command% -condebug -novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -nohltv -particles 1 -precachefontchars -noquicktime
With lots of particles, the game really bogs down especially for a 3070 but its also an old game on an old openGL version. So this is an engine issue than a linux issue
Perfect
LD_PRELOAD=$LD_PRELOAD:/usr/lib/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4 gamemoderun mangohud %command% -novid
7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
I used GloriousEggroll
Mostly got 30 fps and below using no launch commands and around 15 and below with the command.
If you go to the duct cam, the game crashes
I tried most proton versions being the 7.0 GE version, 6.3-8, and proton experimental (also with bleeding edge version too) and got the same results
