The game runs as smoothly as the Windows version. I completed the game (all achievs) with no problem or glitches at all.
Crashes during combat. Most combats can be avoided during the game, except the final boss, so I rate it borked.
Works perfectly.
Steampowered doesn't have it as "verified" but only "playable" due to some text having to being entered using the keyboard. This was probably true at some point, but it's not true anymore, everything can be done with the controller.
Game might hang when clicking on the quit button, otherwise the experience is perfect
I didn't find a good controller layout, and this game is all about QTE, most of which rely on you having a controller with gyroscope. None of the controller layouts made the experience felt great, imho this game is completely unplayable on the steam deck.
Installed COZ patch. (Warning ! If you use polyversal, be sure to execute polyversal in command line and not using the explorer)
Official Controller layout doesn't work. I had to use a custom one.
Works OK except for the controls. You have to use a custom controller layout, which unfortunately means the controls shown on screen will be WASD and not controller keys. This is very unfortunate because there are QTE sections. If you're not able to quickly translate WASD controls into up/down/left/right controls, your experience will suffer from it
Wors prefectly. If you use normal proton instead of GE, you'll miss on videos. This is not important except for ONE video near the end of the game (without spoiling, it's after the last RAM segment). If you don't want to install proton-GE, I'd suggest either playing the video (it's in the movies folder) or looking it up on youtube
Works flawlessly.
If you have a problem with the controls (which I did on my laptop, but not on my PC), it's cause of some weird peripheral being seen as a joypad. rmmod joydev solved it
Some pictures during chapter 3 are hard to see
The game has a tendency to crash when I use the teleport feature, which is annoying and leads to a lot of backtrack. Otherwise playable
Some occasional crashes, but that probably also exists on PC
If you want to copy saves from the previous game (both on deck), just launch ToCSII to make the configuration files, then use the following commands in a terminal:
cd .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata
cp -R 538680/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved\ Games/FALCOM/ed8/ 748490/pfx drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved\ Games/FALCOM/
(this is 2 lines, not 3)
Game works perfectly out of the box. Only thing that doesn't work is the exit button - You have to use steam to exit the game.
Text is a bit small, but can be read nevertheless
The game works perfectly until the ending video, which freezes the game and makes you unable to finish the end (and reach any of the four endings)
