Five Star Hotel

Text in the manual is very small, but can be zoomed in with the A button on controller.
Once launched with Experimental, everything was smooth.
Runs flawlessly on Deck, no tinkering required.
In game frame rate set to 30 fps, graphic quality set to Medium.
Performance and battery life are great. Easily getting several hours of playtime per charge.
Works great out of the box. Even the crash reporter works, unlike Unreal Engine...
Currently not playable due to anti-cheat
After customizing your character, picking a faction and getting through matchmaking, you'll immediately be kicked from the server due to anti-cheat incorrectly identifying you as a cheater.
This occurs both in PvPvE and PvE servers, which makes the game unplayable so far. Luckily the devs have noted that while they're not focusing on Linux support, they don't intend to block it specifically. Hopefully they'll be able to patch relatively quickly to enable native Linux EAC.
Occasional anticheat errors will require reverifying files, but otherwise perfectly playable.
Freezes in loading screen - workarounds no longer working
Unfortunately the workarounds mentioned by others no longer seem to be viable because the game can't even get past the initial loading screen after the 1.0 update.
Skip for now. Wait for Steam Deck support.
Used the solution in this post for the loading freeze https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/4102#issuecomment-1262414567
I was able to get through the invisible login and play all week with nearly no issues. The login comes back every few days though and I can't get through it anymore.
Skip for now, hopefully Steam Deck will pressure the devs into fixing the login problem for all of us.
After switching to fullscreen, on the next boot the game will get stuck in a black window and you'll have to find and delete the config file in the compatdata to get back to a bootable state.
Frequent kernel and game crashes. No variations of Proton or GE seems to solve it.
Only played one match, but it seems to be working perfectly out of the box.
Will not launch. Uses Denuvo
The game uses Denuvo and will not even launch. Don't waste your time until it's removed.
Won't launch with current Proton, but runs flawlessly with GE-Proton9-5
Works out of the box. Only issue I've experienced was with the mouse bounding option in borderless windowed mode.
Option to restrict mouse to the window does not work in borderless windowed mode, but works fine in fullscreen.
Perfect out of the box. Have not encountered a single issue in 15+ hours of play time.
Launches fine, but cannot login.
The game launches fine and I can navigate through the initial menus but it stalls for a while on "Authenticating with Steam" and eventually gives me a login error.
Stuck on "Authenticating with Steam."
Just like the playtest build, unable to get past authentication. Stuck on "Authenticating with Steam. Please wait..." and then recieve a "Login failed. A network error has occurred." message with error ID "whooperups".
The game runs well, aside from the crashes but they're frequent enough to be a major issue.
Frequently crashes during loading.
Most maps run OK, but several missions, like Ides of March, are unplayable with very low FPS, sometimes dipping below 30 and feel very slugish.
After switching to Proton8, crashes became infrequent, but still occur in loading screens.
Performance is bad on Windows as well, there isn't much else holding this game back from being a solid experience on Linux as well. Just wait for perf fixes.
Quite a bit of stutter during the opening sequence of the game as shaders bake, but no issues afterwards.
Mouse sometimes leaves the bounds of the game and clicks to desktop, losing focus.
Occasionally locks up the entire system. Can't even get to another TTY. Have to hard reboot.
Fantastic game, runs great. Minor but very annoying issues that need to be addressed ASAP so players can properly enjoy this well-crafted, native linux game!
Had to change some pipewire configs to get it to stop crackling
Buttons hitboxes are offset from their location on screen in fullscreen
After a few hours of play time, the game will randomly crash during autosaves
I had no issues with performance or graphics, and I just play in windowed mode to avoid the UI issues in fullscreen. Aside from the frustrating autosave crashes, which may well be an issue on Windows as well, this is a fully playable experience on Linux.
Not playable
Crashes upon reaching the lobby after the tutorial.
Crashes immediately upon connecting
Worked recently but now crashes on launch.
Crashes after the cinematic during the initial loading screen.
Crashes when switching back to windowed fullscreen from fullscreen. Needed to change the settings file manually to get back to windowed.
Need to switch to Proton Experimental bleeding-edge branch
