Everything on epic, raytracing on, no upscaling (native resolution 2560x1440), getting at least 90fps everywhere.
I get occasional frametime hitches (barely noticable), possibly due to shader compilation. Had this with the first game as well, it went away after a while.

Skips during startup
Refused to launch, despite EA app installing and launching OK. Deleting Proton prefix to force EA app reinstall did not work. Deleting the EAinstaller and game executables and then verifying game files did not work. Proton Experimental did not work. Neither did Proton 9.0.
Somehow switching to proton 8.0-5 made the game launch, though I'm not sure how stable it is or if it will hold up.
Otherwise the game plays ok, performance is a bit choppy with ray tracing, but playable.

Ran pretty good right out of the box.
frame studdering, went away after a little while and disabling of vsync.
There's no sound during the intro videos and they play in slow motion, but the game is perfectly playable from start to finish.

Some rare crashing from unknown cause (VRAM leak ?), it crashes the full gnome session at this occasion you get loaded to the last saved checkoint once the game is relaunched
Got ~4 to 5 crashes and I am at almost 100% the game
VRAM usage between 11Go and 16Go

If you're already use to really low settings its honestly fine. Definitely suggest better hardware but you can actually experience the game.

Will not launch w/o the launh options
Some text in the meditation menu is cut off in 16:10
The low fog setting looks worse on the Deck, and opening menus sometimes cull a lot of the scenery.
Most stuff is a stuttery (but locked) 30ps
Highly suggest the "Ultra+ Unofficial Hotfixes" mod, the stuttering is much better in bad areas.

The game runs smoothly and without any problems in full-screen resolution 1920x1080@120Hz (VRR enabled in Ubuntu).
Graphics settings [ Epic ] Raytraycing is off (activation is possible). VSync on. FFSR2 quality. Effects all off. Nothing else to say.

Won't start on any Proton version
Switching to an older Proton version lets me see a splash screen at least...

Start Sequence starts with delay. After that no problemes with audio at all.
Start Options needed as EA-Play Starter makes problems.
Audio in loading screen / videos directly when starting the game is missing. Rest of audio is fine.

Seems to run fine. Noticed minor lighting glitches in the opening, but haven't noticed more.
Minor lighting glitches.
Seems to perform great. Running with GE 9-21.

Runs at around 10FPS more than on Windows on my PC. DLSS upscaling and DLSS framegen both also work flawlessly.

I was able to install the game, but no luck running it. Steam and EA Origin say that it is running, but I don't see anything on screen.

I have tried GE and experimental and nothing worked :(
Just installed it from steam, started without issues and no problems with my Dualshock Controller.

Using Proton GE vs Steam's Proton, it runs excellently. No audio stuttering/crackle as mentioned by previous reports, and the frame stutters that are present while running in Windows don't appear to be a problem here. Framerates stay steady around 60FPS at 3440x1440 with occasional dips to 30-40 in CPU intensive scenes.

Auf dem Planeten Koboh war die Performanz ganz schrecklich, aber ich konnte es mit der beigefügten Verbesserung reparieren.

No sound on the opening logos but sound returns once you make it to the main menu
Runs better than it did on windows for me, only minor stutters every once in a while, whereas on windows I was getting much more severe stuttering and way more often.

Even with a 1050ti, I managed to finish the game. Given the hardware, it struggled in some areas, but not to the point it's unplayable.

Used the INIs from "Jedi Survivor INI optimizations", from Nexus.
For a few extra frames (especially if you have the same hardware as I), install some performance mods from the Nexus, like MTPBWY and SWJS - Fixes and Improvements.

set 800x500 in cog menu before starting. set game to low graphics, borderless window. disable in-game FSR2 (slower, uglier than NIS) enable NIS upscaling in steam side bar. set 12watts in side bar. disable sidebar frame cap, and enable allow tearing. (fixes low fps in cut scenes)
Change subtitles size in accessibility settings
My Tinker steps seem to fix slowdown in cutscenes, more stable image quality, and keeps frame rates up 28-40 with playable input lag.

set 12 watts, set 800x500 in cog men before lanching, set NIS in sidebar
increased text size in accessibility settings
in game FSR2 slower than steamdeck NIS or FSR
Great game! would recommend.

Crackling audio only at the beginning. Audio works fine once background shader installation is complete.

EA Launcher won't install with current Proton, Proton GE or Experimental versions for me. There is only a short empty window popping up and vanishing immediately. As a result, the game won't launch, because Steam tries to send a game launch command to the EA app executable in the local Proton installation, which is missing due to the failed install.
Solution: Directly after downloading the game, before doing anything, first let steam check the game file integrity. Then: BEFORE hitting "Launch Game" the first time, set force use of Proton 7.0-6 or 6.3-8 in the game specific steam settings (NOT the global settings!)
If you already attempted to launch with another Proton version and the EA app installer has not been shown, you do NOT have to re-download the game. Just delete the proton compat folder (/home/YOUR-USER-NAME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1774580) and then start a new "Launch Game" attempt with Proton 7.0-6. Be aware that any config or save game that has possibly been created and stored locally is gone if you delete the compat folder!
After the EA App is installed, wait for the initial steam setup to finish (it will install a few other redistributables, like DirectX). Before launching the game, it is mandatory to switch back to Proton-Experimental (the game wouldn't launch with Proton 6 or 7, and for me also not with Proton 9 or Proton GE 11 or 14).
After that, i had bad performance ~25 fps avg. on any graphics setting (no change from lowest to highest) and the GPU load on my RTX ADA 3000 (basically a 4070 rtx mobile) was only 45%. I could finally resolve this by manually building gamemode from source code and installing it on the system. See the README in the lower section of the page: https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode, you'll find the commands to execute the build process and install it. Probably, you'll need to catch some dependencies, too.
Voila- stable 55 to 60 fps at all Epic settings, even Raytracing works fine (with the FPS drop that can be expected on a mobile 40W TDP GPU like mine). Overall game performance is now even better than in Windows, but that could also be due to the recent patch 9 on Sept 12th 2024.
Also, before just copying the launching options into your config, be sure to have the applications (like gamemoderun or mangohud) already installed and set up correctly. Using "mangohud" in the startup preset without having it installed manually before will also result in the game not launching!

Although not perfect, the game is now enjoyable on SD. Cryoutilities is essential, otherwise you'll encounter hard freezes quickly.
Install Cryoutilities with default settings
FPS cap to 30, all settings low, FSR performance
no cloud save, use other software to backup

From time to time you get a few seconds of crackling audio but it fix itself without doing anything.
The crackling noise is very rare, but happens at least one time for each 2 hours game session. It fix itself, also changing the volume of the os seems to fix it.

UMA buffer size set to 4G. FPS cap at 30.
UMA Buffer set to 4G. FPS cap at 30
Sometimes EA Play required manually login. Cloud saving never works in my case.

The initial load is, of course, very slow, as it builds assets. Once it's done, though, it seems to run just fine.
I had to switch to Proton-Experimental; default Proton did NOT work.

I had on 3 or 4 cutseens crashes. After reloading the game the cutseen loads normal and the game didnt crashed. Great game!

Suspect I should try Proton-experimental; will look to see if there are any applicable winetricks. Haven't given up yet, but I do wonder whether I'm too late and EA has applied some kind of anticheat that locks out linux builds. :|

Using a dxvk.conf with dxgi.maxDeviceMemory = 3840
The game is trying to allocate too much VRAM, so much so, that once it is nearing 8 GB (my GPU's max VRAM), it just tried to allocate more, until the video freezes up (audio is still playing, game is still responding to inputs), checking dmesg
error messages I can see [drm:nv_drm_gem_alloc_nvkms_memory_ioctl [nvidia_drm]] *ERROR* [nvidia-drm] [GPU ID 0x00000100] Failed to allocate NVKMS memory for GEM object
, even when trying to limit my max VRAM with the dxkv.conf (to less than half my GPU's VRAM), I still get issues.
While the game is running "fine", this issue happens in just a few minutes, making this game unplayable.
The game is great, but the PC port is atrocious, glad I only paid for EA Play, it looks like Respawn / EA don't even care about fixing these issues.

Installed and launched through Lutris via the EA-App.

It is absolutely enjoyable but graphical details cannot by very high on my old RX580
Crackling seems to be only present during game boot/startup animations and not present during actual gameplay

After adding some environment variable settings to my launch command to mess with Proton, I noticed that the EA App was successfully trying to run the game but the game was crashing on startup. I noticed this STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG variable and took a guess at how it worked. I figured if it was failing to launch the game then it was a graphics issue and it seems like using "nativevulkanloader" fixes it.

The game worked _fine_ but EA broke it's shitty app again. Never buying EA games again
I tried switching proton versions and running steam from the terminal, but I couldn't get any interesting output from it, stupid EA app never launches to start the game

It doesn't start now at all (used to work)
The Steam version is now completely borked, even though it has been working fairly well before on my Tumbleweed desktop.
After a game update, it now doesn't start anymore. None of the Proton versions help it. I have tried:
- Current default proton
- Current Proton Experimental
- Latest GE 9.5
I am pretty sure that EA is responsible again with their super-shitty and generally useless EA app.

The game worked fine without any tinkering on my system. I didn't try any of the official steam proton version. I just used GE-Proton9-5 directly.

Cap the framerate to 30 fps
There are dips in certains areas especially Koboh
Slight bugs
Cap the framerate to 30 fps along with proton hotfix for compatibility. Change the OS channel to Main (Ver. 3.7) from dev options in the settings. Cryoutilities is recommended but not required as it can be played without it. Change ingame settings to lowest for better results. Can keep 4gb vram from bios as well.

Game crash just after seeing the EADesktop App
