Tried many versions of proton, only GE 10-4 worked. With others, either it would not go past the EA App link, or it would freeze in game
Had to disable Steam Input for my Steam Controller to work
Had to delete the prefix to force the EA App to re-install and not crash on start after switching to GE-Proton10-4.

Frequent crashes makes it impossible to play
Tried different proton version, lowering graphics, etc. Nothing solved the crashes, they happen consistently after 5 to 15 min, and it freezes the whole computer, so it requires a hard reboot

Great
Some slow downs in large areas on Koboh, but still playable. Given that there are many complaints about this games performance, this is probably a performance issue with the game itself.

Using Nixos i had a problems with the launcher. I found this here: https://discourse.nixos.org/t/failing-to-launch-ea-games-on-nixos/61944
which references to here: https://www.protondb.com/app/1237970#R7KoHBKZsf
Apparently this has something to do with EA not liking long Env Variables and this command cuts the variables to a maximum of a thousand chars.
I also ran protontricks but that didn’t do anything i think.

Beautiful and smooth graphics. Just getting started playing but wanted to report my tinkering before I forget.

Was able to get crackling to go away by using PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
for the launch options and selecting Proton Experimental.
Was tricky getting it to go into fullscreen properly. Had to first change resolution to match what my desktop is set at already.
Had to disable steam controller input to make the controller work. The default configuration was interfering with EA app.

Finished the game, no issues

Little stuttering now and then, but I think it's on my end. Steam install is broken, had to do annoying workaround.

Used protontricks to install EA Origin in the games prefix
Installation was absolutely miserable. Built-in EA install script wouldn't work. Ended up needing to install origin separately in the game's prefix with protontricks. Once I got it running, it ran just fine. Light stuttering here and there, I'm on epic settings + have stuttering in other games, so I feel comfortable saying it's a me issue.

It defaults to all low with fsr at performance and the game can be played in it's entirety at a relatively solid frame rate.
I personally chose to lock the framerate to 30 in steam deck settings just to keep it consistent for me. It'll be fine regardless but make sure to turn off motion blur and chromatic aberration and all that. From what I've heard the first area is the most demanding and I warrant this is true as the second area I was able to bump up a few settings to medium and switch to balanced with fsr. What's funnier is I've experienced 0 crashes on my steam deck but it still crashes and is unstable on my ps5

gamescope -w 3840 -h 2160 -f -e -r 144.0 --adaptive-sync --hdr-debug-force-output --hdr-enabled --mangoapp -- %command%
I used gamescope for HDR. Surprisingly good performance for incredible graphics, ~100 FPS on my hardware. Maybe FSR quality was on... In any case, ran well. Requesting refund due to sucking at action adventure "souls-like" games though...

First game start took about 10~15 min to start properly

EA Launcher has to be linked to steam with valid account via separate install
Took me hours to get working, found out "bundled" EA launcher would not handle case when EA acct is locked due to inactivity. Installed Lutris+Wine then EA App and restore account that way. EA account has to be linked with Steam. Knowing now it was an acct issue might have been able to resolve via web or Windows install of EA app. Once EA signin worked, game launched OOB but I had many crashes typically when exiting menus or changing settings. This is first game I've played with FSR2, it works and gives amazing speed bump for no noticeable quality loss, letting me play smoothly at 4k on 6700XT on High settings. With the crashes I am trying GE-Proton9-27 to see if it improves. Performance seems the same vs. OOB Steam Proton.
Out of the box

Worked great out of the box with recommended settings and no ray tracing.
I had one crash during a cutscene, but it might be a game issue instead of an OS issue.

35-42 fps. I locket it to 30

When you play for the first time, the game installs the EA app and requires you to sign in to your EA account. If you are online, you can play; however, if you are offline, you cannot access the game. The version of the EA app appears to be a lightweight one, and it does not support offline mode. Therefore, I feel that this makes the game unplayable.

Crashes after few seconds
MANGOHUD=1 %COMMAND%
Does not work. I've tried different proton versions, experimental, hotfix, older ones, GE. None of them works. Crashes with EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x000000000000005c

Works even better on Linux. No major flalws and the overall experience is beyond compare with Windows
Happily playing on medium-height settings with wide fullHD monitor and 55-75 fps most of the time (FSR Quality). On my Windows, the FPS was lower and all the textures were blurry, thanks to my 6GB of VRam (out of 8GB requered). In cut scenes they're still a bit slow to load, but it's fairly neglectable. Perfectly smooth controls with Xbox One gamepad

Needed to force Proton 9 to get it to boot. Contant hitching since first boot and constant crashes on second planet Jedha 6 hours in
gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f --hdr-enabled --adaptive-sync --mangoapp -- %command%
Constant crashing on second planet Jedha.

Everything on epic, raytracing on, no upscaling (native resolution 2560x1440), getting at least 90fps everywhere.
I get occasional frametime hitches (barely noticable), possibly due to shader compilation. Had this with the first game as well, it went away after a while.

STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG="nativevulkanloader" gamemoderun %command%
Skips during startup
Refused to launch, despite EA app installing and launching OK. Deleting Proton prefix to force EA app reinstall did not work. Deleting the EAinstaller and game executables and then verifying game files did not work. Proton Experimental did not work. Neither did Proton 9.0.
Somehow switching to proton 8.0-5 made the game launch, though I'm not sure how stable it is or if it will hold up.
Otherwise the game plays ok, performance is a bit choppy with ray tracing, but playable.

Ran pretty good right out of the box.
frame studdering, went away after a little while and disabling of vsync.
There's no sound during the intro videos and they play in slow motion, but the game is perfectly playable from start to finish.

Some rare crashing from unknown cause (VRAM leak ?), it crashes the full gnome session at this occasion you get loaded to the last saved checkoint once the game is relaunched
Got ~4 to 5 crashes and I am at almost 100% the game
VRAM usage between 11Go and 16Go

If you're already use to really low settings its honestly fine. Definitely suggest better hardware but you can actually experience the game.

Will not launch w/o the launh options
Some text in the meditation menu is cut off in 16:10
The low fog setting looks worse on the Deck, and opening menus sometimes cull a lot of the scenery.
Most stuff is a stuttery (but locked) 30ps
Highly suggest the "Ultra+ Unofficial Hotfixes" mod, the stuttering is much better in bad areas.

The game runs smoothly and without any problems in full-screen resolution 1920x1080@120Hz (VRR enabled in Ubuntu).
Graphics settings [ Epic ] Raytraycing is off (activation is possible). VSync on. FFSR2 quality. Effects all off. Nothing else to say.

Won't start on any Proton version
Switching to an older Proton version lets me see a splash screen at least...

Start Sequence starts with delay. After that no problemes with audio at all.
Start Options needed as EA-Play Starter makes problems.
Audio in loading screen / videos directly when starting the game is missing. Rest of audio is fine.

Seems to run fine. Noticed minor lighting glitches in the opening, but haven't noticed more.
Minor lighting glitches.
Seems to perform great. Running with GE 9-21.

Runs at around 10FPS more than on Windows on my PC. DLSS upscaling and DLSS framegen both also work flawlessly.

I was able to install the game, but no luck running it. Steam and EA Origin say that it is running, but I don't see anything on screen.

I have tried GE and experimental and nothing worked :(
Just installed it from steam, started without issues and no problems with my Dualshock Controller.

Using Proton GE vs Steam's Proton, it runs excellently. No audio stuttering/crackle as mentioned by previous reports, and the frame stutters that are present while running in Windows don't appear to be a problem here. Framerates stay steady around 60FPS at 3440x1440 with occasional dips to 30-40 in CPU intensive scenes.
