Seems to run fine, but I've never played it on Windows to compare. Doesn't seem to have an options menu of any kind.
Should be fine once shaders get fixed.
The first time I changed resolution in full screen mode, it scrunched up. Changing from Fullscreen to Borderless and back fixed it up.
Significant problems early on, clearing up as I played more. Seems to be shader related.
Had some mild connectivity issues. Unsure if related to shaders or not.
To mitigate issues, run your character through training / non multiplayer first.
Game will not start. Instead, a window with Runtime Error ! / R6016 - not enough space for thread data appears.
uses En Masse Launcher
Not sure if the tab out issue is KDE related or not (KDE 5.27.6 Wayland). Not really a major issue regardless.
Minor issue: Tabbing in and out caused momentary compresing of screen ratio. Didn't break anything, just kind of weird to see and not something that happens on Windows.
I bought the content restoration patch from JAST USA and executed it with
protontricks-launch --appid 1518430 /path/to/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/"Eiyu Senki Gold"/esgold_steam_patch_v1.01.exe
Yes, the patch needs to be placed in the game directory beforehand. I did not at any point attempt to run the game without the content patch, so I can't speak for the All Ages experience.
Other than closing the game, everything works as expected.
Closing the game opened a weird unity progress window instead of closing the program. Misc. other bugs that are also present on Windows.
Worked as expected
It might be worth locking to a specific proton version so a random experimental update doesn't bork things. But for now I can't be bothered.
Works reasonably well out of the box.
The "closing bug" I complained about in my last report for this game happened to me a few times on Windows as well, making it not a Linux-specific issue.
Load times are somewhat higher than expected, given that I installed on a NVMe, but are acceptable. Proton 5.13-6
Everything seemed to work just fine, considering I forgot how to play.
The intro video is no longer skipped in Proton 7.0-6 like it used to be in Proton-6.21-GE-1. Tinkering is no longer necessary to play the game; only if you want or need the extra performance.
Didn't play long but didn't experience any issues.
Just don't tab out. Use the steam overlay browser for browsing as needed.
The game does not like being tabbed out of while fullscreen. Tanks FPS for the rest of the session as far as I could determine.
Crashes frequently on Proton 9 OOTB
Game does not like becoming unfocused when it is full screen.
Game frequently shows a mojibake error message and crashes.
Happens more frequently when you try to skip text.
WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/lavfilters winetricks -q --force lavfilters d3dx9 dotnet35 vcrun2003 vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2015
Any game saves you saved by launching from Steam were not accessible to me when launching from Lutris.
I would have bought this elsewhere had I known it worked poorly without tinkering.
Requires Lutris. Unplayable without. Crashes every time at same scene.
40fps/80hz, 6 watt TDP
in game text is small but readable on the OLED deck
crash window can't be clicked out of w/ default controller settings
Save games did not seem to transfer between pc and steam deck.
Game crashes on intro with a mojibake error message
Native version is literally an appimage, with Steam providing the system integration. Uses the system config as if you installed the Krita package. Doesn't add a bunch of KDE dependencies, if you're using something that isn't KDE.
I wasn't able to log in with my Google account, due to that using a built-in browser which doesn't work on my computer. I was able to log in to my yostar account by email.
Other than that, game seems to work exactly as it does on Windows.
While I have not tested this myself, reports say that the steam overlay crashes the game. Thus, I have it turned off entirely for the game.
No problems that were not also present on windows (occasional lag)
Some of the systems are counterintuitive but are not linux-related bugs. IE her complaining about being ignored.
Limited TDP to 10 watts and framerate to 60fps.
Some text was hard to read.
Game was fun.
Bless
Throws a weird error on launching, showing the server's that are online, then redirects you to what looks like a login form.
I was not able to connect to the servers until I changed from DirectX 11 to Vulkan, which was weird. After that the game ran pretty much exactly as it does on Windows.
Do not forget to change renderer to Vulkan.
Loot Filters can be located at $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/238960/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My\ Games/Path\ of\ Exile/
I know there is an OnlineFilters folder here, but for some reason the game doesn't detect filters you place here. Place them in the parent Path of Exile directory instead.
For convenience, run the following command, so the folder will be right in your home directory (or wherever else you want it)
ln -s $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/238960/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My\ Games/Path\ of\ Exile/ $HOME/PathOfExile
Some bugs exist, but similar and/or same bugs can be encountered on Windows.
Changed in game renderer to Vulkan.
Loot Filters can be found at (((YOUR POE INSTALL DRIVE)))/steamapps/compatdata/238960/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My\ Games/Path\ of\ Exile/
Game is locked to 720p.
I recommend switching to proton-ge to avoid getting locked to 720p resolution.
Missing textures in battle is a huge deal.
In battle, the floor and possibly some parts of the UI simply fail to load
If you can figure out how to fix the missing textures, this game would be perfectly playable.
I don't think GE proton ended up being needed, I turned it on while trying to fix the "can't click menu options" bug.
Until I changed the graphics renderer to DX11 and turned Steam Overlay off, I had a fair number of issues.
Online play was a bit jank. Unsure if it's the server I was using or something inherent to online.
You can probably get by with the default settings and just changing Graphics to Dx11 if it's still available. Presumably Vulkan will be fixed eventually; then that will be the one to use.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Game seemed to always switch back to Windowed. Didn't seem to matter if I was using DX9 mode or DX11 mode.
Haven't tested on Windows but it should work just fine. Granted you have to make an account for internet play.
Using the default Proton that Steam suggests, the game crashes after a single turn pretty much no matter what.
Some maps cause the game to black screen and fail to load, but otherwise seems to work fine.
Most things work.
In my testing, I was completely unable to start the tutorial.
I have never used this piece of software before, so I only tested the most basic functions that you would expect.
I was able to create a new project, I was able to preview a test build of the sample game, I was able to export builds of the sample game (tested win x64 and linux x64 builds), the builds worked as expected.
I did not perform any deep customization, just setting my default project and export folders.
I did not test any of the actual editing functions as of yet. Once I have a better idea of what the software is meant to be capable of, I'll revise this review.
Ate all of my RAM, then crashed before starting
--skip-intro did not work, nor did launching without it work I tested proton versions 3.7, 3.16, 4.2, and 4.11 with and without gl/intro skip, the game never launched gl or not didn't seem to make a difference
The intro works fine, but I recommend skipping it after the first time.
I was able to connect to the multiplayer server listings but did not attempt to join a game, since I have never played before. Theoretically joining an online game should just work.
