With normal Proton the videos and the video backgrounds don't work, instead there is a placeholder video of Proton. However everything works fine with Glorious Eggroll.
Everything seemed to work just fine, considering I forgot how to play.
The intro video is no longer skipped in Proton 7.0-6 like it used to be in Proton-6.21-GE-1. Tinkering is no longer necessary to play the game; only if you want or need the extra performance.
Installed codec pack in game's wineprefix
Installing K-Lite Codec Pack in game's wineprefix enabled me to play game without crashing after it launches (previously it crashed immediately after start). Movies play smoothly, too.
The first couple cutscenes have been transcoded as shaders, but most in the game won't play correctly yet. First run you'll also need to use the touchscreen to change the control method to gamepad. For some reason, the game may not recognize a connected gamepad on occasion, requiring reopening the game and redoing this step.
6.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
It works perfectly with Glorious Eggroll. Originally tested with Proton-6.21-GE-1 and then updated to the latest GE release, and still works fine.

Since the videos are kind of very important story-wise etc. I'd say it's not really playable

You may need to remap the controller.
It's finally playable. To pass black screen (which is intro) press enter. Also somehow you may need to remap the controller when you log in again.
Missing movies is a major annoyance.

Opens a fullscreen borderless window but doesn't manage to render anything to it. Tested Proton 5.13-4 and experimental.

Default binds caused menus to be difficult to navigate when using a gamepad. When installing, manually rebind all controls, particularly Previous/Next Tab and Previous/Next Page.
Game froze on the intro video one time. Was unable to reproduce the freeze on subsequent reloads.
