Works perfectly with OpenGL but runs noticeably faster with Vulkan. I had to disable Steam Overlay otherwise it hangs at 99% on startup and is quite difficult to kill. Once running in Vulkan it is great. Solid 60 FPS on adaptive sync at ultra in 4k. It seems as if just 'sync' drops a bit below 60 FPS at times but not much.
Runs well. Currently need to use Proton 4 though.
Issues when using Proton 5 but no problem with 4.
Launcher than pops up is annoying but the game launches without a hitch once the account is created/logged in.
Really good performance. Get around 120 FPS at 4k, only graphics options tweaked was reduced AA down to 2x.
Just get a blank screen.
Nothing tried so far makes a difference, good job it was on a sale for 99p.
Great on Proton. Great game.
Start-up occasionally freezes in the menu when the town in the background is populated with traffic. This may affect Windows users though. Have to restart the game. No problems other than that.
No problems at all, works perfectly. OpenGL version is much quicker for me, sticking to my monitor's 60 FPS most of the time. Vulkan experimental is only around 35 FPS but I'll keep an eye on developments.
Works flawlessly. I have it running the default OpenGL version at 4k uncapped FPS with most things maxed out apart from leaving TAA Low and reflection detail down a notch. I get around 55 FPS on a planet most of the time but the game is one for having dips in FPS and it can drop to about 40 or so. Max FPS on a planet is about 60 for me.
It runs perfectly (doesn't crash) but is less than half as fast as the OpenGL version was prior to Beyond. The Vulkan version was slow for me prior to Beyond too. I now get around 30FPS at 4k on High settings. It used to be around 55FPS at 4K close to Ultra settings. Reducing down to 1080p doesn't increase the FPS as much as it should so I'll continue on PS4 for now... and PSVR too.
Alt-tab gave blank screen needing restart of game.
The game works flawlessly with the ffbtools workaround from https://github.com/berarma/ffbtools
compiled and extra game launch options for alt-tab blank screen fix. My startup command is now:
/home/username/ffbtools/bin/ffbwrap --direction-fix /dev/input/by-id/usb-Logitech_G29_Driving_Force_Racing_Wheel-event-joystick -- %command% -windowed -borderless
Worked perfectly, just like native
I managed to get the new vkQuake ray-traced version working too. See github comments section for details.
I had to restart the game after changing resolution as it made no difference in game. Other than that it is flawless.
No one would know that this game is Windows only. It seems like a Linux native game.
Beginning video on drop-pod screen is not visible, just the audio but it doesn't detract from the experience.
No problems. Platinum experience for me.
No issues found. Vsync is choppy but maybe due to me having two monitors. Needs some optimization but I do get 4k60 and it is EA currently.
Excellent performance and worked straight off, although I did disable steam overlay as other suggested. I've not tried it on Windows but I can't see it running any better. It runs 4k 60fps at highest graphical setting with locked V-Sync, which is definitely smoother for me than adaptive v-sync. I just reduced the anti-aliasing down to a mid-range value.
Works flawlessly. If using a Logitech G29 you will (currently) need to resort to 4.2 rather than 4.11 to get FFB working.
My Logitech G29 needed Proton 4.2-9 in order for the FFB to work. Steering was mapped to X-Axis+ and - (not left blank). The wheel worked perfectly then after altering sensitivity for my preference. With 4.11 FFB would not work.
