Works flawlessly
Crashes when Ubuntu goes into the login screen due to afk.
Just works out of the box and saves frequently. Just make sure your Linux disto doesn't lock the screen for being afk.
bash -c 'exec "${@/%"Launcher/dowser.exe"/Cities2.exe}"' -- %command%
Sometimes some textures of vehicles are "blinking"
The game will try to use the Paradox-launcher. This will stop the game from starting. Without the proton-startup-parameters that skip the launcher, it is impossible to start the game for me.
Works out of the box
Crashed once, but I don't know it if is connected to Linux or Java.
Works nice. Even though it should be native, Proton needs to be forced.
Works out of the box. Disable V-Sync and FPS limit for smoother performance.
The game occasionally experiences periodic bursts of lag. This can be avoided by turning off V-Sync and disabling the FPS limit.
Games crashes when you try to import a blueprint from a graphic's file
The game used to run perfectly. Since the lat update of the ubuntu kernel it does not run anymore.
Used differencet forced Proton versions
Does not work for me.
Sometimes the pupil's information screen does not pop up when you select a pupil. In this case, you will have to go back to the main screen and reload your save game until it works. It seems quite random.
Works almost perfectly.
Works out of the box.
The game attempts to play MS-Windows-compatible videos in the background of the menu, but this doesn't work for me. You can simply dismiss the error message and its log. This issue does not occur during gameplay.
Works out of the box with sometimes a small and fixable annoyance.
Sometimes the fullscreen is offset with a blank menu- bar on top of the screen after starting the game. Fix: Go into the ingame graphic settings, switch off fullscreen, apply, switch on fullscreen, apply.
Works really well and with good performance. No issues besides the occasional graphics-problem at startup.
Works out of the box. Minor performance issues on large colonies with Ubuntu 24.04.
Sometimes a grey bar appears at the top of the screen when loading the game initially. This can be handled by setting up a shortcut in Gnome to disable and re-enable fullscreen mode. A quick toggle out and back in fixes it. It seems to be a Gnome issue rather than a RimWorld issue.
In large colonies, the game may experience periodic bursts of slowness. This issue has only occurred for me since upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 and did not happen when I was using Ubuntu 23.10.
I love that game!
Works Out Of The Box
Game might show the occasional grey Gnome-bar on top during startup. Just escape out of fullscreen and then re-engange it with keyboard shortcuts.
