Overall well optimised game. 1080p ultra no drops. Even manged 2160p 60 fps med/high in testing.
The rear-view cameras sometimes bug out, but that was only when I was using OBS to record.
Used to work fine, now crashes on startup
Not sure what they did, was working fine now it won't start. I've tried a bunch of different versions of Proton and the best I was able to get was it freezing on the main menu.
28-30 fps given my hardware seem low.
Even worse performance on default settings
Works like a charm out of the box
briefly flashes open black window and then closes
Tested with Proton Experimental and 9.0-2
Runs very smoothly with no tweaks other than using the proton compadibility layer.
Runs very well and smoothly, but you may need to force your GPU into its gaming/performance mode.

Star Trucker by default doesn't seem to switch my GPU (Radeon RX 6700 XT) into gaming/performance mode by default - this caused some pretty bad FPS when I first started playing (around 45 FPS) despite the fact that I knew this game was playing at over 100FPS in Windows.
To fix this, I needed to download CoreCtrl and make a profile for the game (select the Star Trucker.exe file as the "executable"), in which I manually specified 3D Fullscreen with the GPU minimum MHz/Max MHz set very high (2500/2600MHz respectively), along with the Memory Max MHz to 1000. Don't forget to apply and then save the profile settings.
For good measure I also set the CPU's governor to Performance mode as well.
If you do this correctly, when launching Star Trucker you should notice that the GPU utilization ramps up within CoreCtrl. By default, you need to have launched CoreCtrl manually for this to kick in, but the project's wiki has instructions on setting it to auto-boot. Fixed all of my FPS issues!

Occasionally, the intended "glitching" effect on the status monitor will have a weird artifact that seems unintended. Not a real issue, barely even immersion breaking.
Considering my hardware I would expect to run this game maxed out @ 1080p with a stable 144 fps, but sometimes it can dip down to ~100. Not an issue considering this isn't exactly a "fast paced game" -- I wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for the Steam FPS counter.
It feels like a native experience. I am completely hooked on this game.
Wasn't able to get the game (not the demo) to run under any compatability settings. Ran fine in windows.
Works out of the box, 10+ hours without issue.
Dropped to low visual settings
Most text is really small, no scaling options
Tried different Protons and GE variations
Changing most settings reasonably on Deck did nothing
D-pad sometimes takes double presses to register
30-34 FPS no matter what
Must be a performance bug currently, because as already stated fps is 30-34 regardless of settings in game and in performance menu on Deck.
Works out of the box on Steam Deck
Runs fine on LOW at stable 30fps
After suspend the audio starts to crackle and radio messages are speed up
FSR is not available. Using Steam Decks FSR the image is blurry. Playing on docked mode at 1080p is also blurry as well.
Sits at around 40-50 FPS on Low for most of the game. Some problem areas drop that to around 25-30, still playable.
Text gets hard to read on lower render scale and resolutions. May also be difficult to see when playing undocked.
Upon startup, the game is set to High settings, which is around 30 FPS. Lowering that without altering resolution or render scale is adequate enough to keep the framerate above 30 for the most part.
Certain areas of the game (i.e. Spark City, Tanktown) comes with immense slowdown, perhaps due to the sheer intensity of particle effects in the area, putting the FPS at around 25-30 while using the default view staring out the window. Reducing resolution and/or render scale brings it back up above 30.
It should be noted that despite this, the game feels plenty tolerable even at its worst so far, however I cannot confirm for sure if lategame suffers even worse performance issues.
Half-Rate Shading is not recommended for this game due to it blurring up the text on the truck's HUD, making it difficult to make out what the consoles are saying.
Some text on the status displays in your truck is hard to read initally, however, you can zoom in with D-pad down and it renders perfect when zoomed in. It appears that is why this feature was added

I'm only getting 50fps with 30% of my GPU and CPU being utilised and the very few graphical options all set to their max values. Frametimes are in the low 20ms range.
No custom keybinds, limited graphical options, poor performance, and low FOV really hold this game back from being a great game to zone out to.
Works great right out the box on the deck.
No issues here!
Ran the full release version using Proton 9.0-2 with no issues whatsoever.
Seems to work right out of the box w/o tinkering
Installed, played without any need to tinker. Didn't even have to enable Proton compatibility.
Frames regularly Dropped below 10 fps before forcing an older proton version
the demo runs as smooth as can be, i hope i will be able to say the same of the full release once that comes out
Works well out of the box
Tested demo version
Appears to be unoptimized, but may improve over time
Seems good but needs better GFX card than I have
I couldn't get over 20 frames out of my 1070 on low settings, I think it's not well optimized. Other than that there were no problems.
It seems that the game isn't optimised very well yet so although I get over 100fps in the cabin, looking out I average 40-60fps depending on the scenery
I'd say the game seems well playable but you have to find out which combination of settings or proton version works for you. [This was all evaluated on the demo version of the game]

Played the demo for awhile on PC. Highly suggest turning VSync off if you have a decent GPU as set to 144hz with it on caused some stuttering. Turning VSync off and it was very smooth with display settings set to ultra. Works both with an 8bitDo Pro2 controller as well as mouse and keyboard. Default Proton
- Steamdeck. Works out of the box. To get 60FPS I had to set the graphics to low. Forcing the frame limiter to 40 I could run it on high but to my old eyes it looked fine at low. I would say the text is a little small on the deck but readable.
