Easy Anti-Cheat
Menu works perfectly, but I can't even get into any match or even training because of Easy Anti-Cheat
Extreme graphical glitches that make the game unplayable.
EAC is not a problem anymore after switching to Proton Experimental.
I was stuck on the "Connecting to master server" screen.
I had to switch to GE-Proton7-10 for the anti-cheat to work.
Roughly 10 fps less than on windows, but it didn't impact my experience.
I couldn't get a 16:9 resolution to work. The default resolution is, however, fine to use
+set r_ignorehwgamma 1
I solved strange discoloration (a lot of reds and blues) by switching to an older Proton version. 3.16-9 worked the best for me. I also experiences some mouse stuttering, which went away when I disabled vsync (Sync every frame under Performance).
Took me a while to get the correct Proton version and launch options for it to work, but afterwards it was totally worth it.
PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1 __GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700 MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2008 %command% +set r_ignorehwgamma 1 +set com_introplayed 1 +set r_mode -1 +set r_customheight 850 +set r_customwidth 1550 +set r_customaspect 1.7 +set cg_fov 90 +set cg_nopredict 0 +set com_hunkmegs 256 +set cg_drawfps 0
Stuttering mouse because of vsync. Turning vsync off through the launch options didn't actually do anything. I had to manually turn "Sync every frame" off under "Performance" in the game settings.
I unfortunately wasn't able to get multiplayer working.
I actually have slightly better performance (~10 extra FPS) with Vulkan on Linux than I had on Windows.
It runs AMAZINGLY well. My only issue was with the performance of Dark Vision.
I haven't used all powers (I always only use blink and dark vision) but there is a slight stutter/freeze when activating dark vision.
It runs perfectly out of the box. I experienced zero issues.
Works without noticeable performance drops. Sad that online doesn't work for me though. Not even with some of the fixes commonly listed.
Crashes when trying to play Online
I wasn't able to use my mouse in the native Linux client, so I used Proton and had zero issues.
Music is looping. Fixed by putting the following into the launch options: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%
Origin installs but it gets stuck on trying to start Origin. Origin doesn't start, so I also cannot start the game.
My mouse would sometimes leave the game if I moved it too fast. For me this was only fixable by using hax11: LD_PRELOAD=/home//repos/hax11/lib64/hax11.so
After an update from a while ago I suddenly received only 5 fps even though before that I used to get around 60 fps. Fixing this for me was by adding the following command to my launch options: VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json
In the end, my launch options look like this: LD_PRELOAD=/home//repos/hax11/lib64/hax11.so VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json %command%
In-game voice chat didn't work. Both for transmitting and receiving.
