Almost a full playthrough, I'm only missing a few time rifts but I played all acts.
You have to install xact to avoid audio issues (easiest way is through protontricks : install https://github.com/Sirmentio/protontricks and then run protontricks 253230 xact
).
There is a very minor glitch (white flashes) in one of the early levels, but it doesn't really affect gameplay and that level is only 5 minutes long anyways. The rest of the game renders with no issues.
No problems either with controller support. My Logitech F310 is recognized as a 360 gamepad but whatever, it works.
That game is aaalmooost Gold...but I have to rate it Silver because performance is not as good as it should be, especially in high-polycount areas like Mafia Town. Thankfully there are plenty of graphical options to tweak, and I could to maintain a mostly stable 60 FPS with the game still looking good. But that may not be achievable on older hardware.
Boop !
Prototype key from Kickstarter
Pretty slow on maximum settings (~40fps), but that could be just the lack of optimization (it's a very early prototype after all). No other issues.
Works out-of-the box with good performance. No need to force WineD3D with up-to-date drivers.
Full playthrough.
The game used to crash a lot, but it didn't happen once during my few last hours of gameplay. Since the last crash, there has been a Proton update, Nvidia driver updates, and i also manually upgraded DXVK to 0.96. One of those three things must have fixed the issue.
Audio works out-of-the-box with the latest Proton version. I heard a teeny tiny bit of crackling in a very specific area (the bridge to Hela's gate, because it's a windy area I guess), but besides that it's flawless.
For some odd reason, running in fullscreen mode makes the KDE taskbar overlap the game. Hiding the taskbar or running in fullscreen window fixes the issue.
No issues with controller support, both my F310 and my PS4 controller work and rumble is supported.
No issues
The game likes to spike the CPU irregularly, so make sure your governor is set to performance in order to avoid slowdowns.
Did a full playthrough, the game runs like a charm. Played the game with a DS4 controller, it works and rumble is supported.
Only issue : the bonus "making-of" videos (that you can find in a submenu) don't play probably because of some codec issue. But that's not technically part of the game, so it's still Platinum IMHO.
Stutter during the intro sequence, no issues otherwise
Stutter during the intro
The stuttering was only noticeable during the intro sequence. Although mildly annoying, there's barely any gameplay during that section, and it did not cause me to lose anything of the cutscenes.
Once past the intro, the stuttering almost completely disappeared, and I was able to complete the game at 100% without issues.
Side note: I played the game before shader pre-processing was deployed in Steam Beta. You may want to enable it for this game, as there's a chance it might solve the stuttering completely.
Runs great out-of-the box. Enabling Fsync with Proton 4.11 (with a patched kernel) reduces performance when CPU-bound. Prefer Esync for now.
Runs fine. A weird glitch happened in my last hours of playtrough (game got stuck on a grey~green screen a few times) but that was probably caused by switching to the beta version of the Nvidia driver.
Had to set the launch options to "__GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700 %command%", or else the game would crash at launch. Also, the resolution settings are ignored in fullscreen mode (defaults to 640x480) but work in windowed mode. Game runs fine otherwise.
Glorious Eggroll's Proton is needed in order to play the final cutscene (it stays stuck on a black screen otherwise and doesn't move to the "completed game" screen). The rest of the game works totally fine with the default Proton though.
