slight frame drops are to be expected because of poor optimalization,DO NOT use the NATIVE version, its been long abandoned
-windowed
Fullscreeen can sometimes crash the game when booted for first time after installation
Still runs better than on windows, frame drops are to be expected in ark
Works better than native and windows
Switch to experimental, DO NOT use the NATIVE version, its been long abandoned by the devs (you will experience crashes, missing textures ect.)
The Lutris install script for EA App is faulty, you'll have to launch it with wine-ge in "games tab", then install BFV, add it as a game from it's .exe file and play it via proton experimetnal.
Sometimes when you alt-tab, the screen of the game goes blank and you'll have to restart.
Graphical options reseted for me twice.
Occasional crashes when playing with wine-ge, didn't notice any problems with proton
Crashes (wine-ge), didn't expierence one with Proton
Use steam version only if you want to track your hours spend, otherwise just get blender for repo
As soon as you join a game, you will get disconnected.
Multiplayer seems to be working for some people now, sadly it does not work for me. With kernel updated and runtime installed, I could get only into menu to get free christmass bloodpoints.Switching to GE version of proton did not help.
'Please, start Heroes and generals through steam'
Last report was 3 months ago, I had a little hope that it would finally work :( Dead by Daylight(EAC game, with unsupported linux) for example, started working for some people on proton recently.
Sometimes titlescreen turns black, using experimentall fixed it (at least for me)
Crashed twice in ~15h of gameplay
Pro tip: If you are waiting for a match for >2 minutes, search for match again, otherwise you could wait litteral hours (wr is 120h i think)
Switch to experimental
Dual Monitor Setup: Sometimes opens on wrong monitor
Runs WAY better when comparred to windows. Game is bit more stable on experimental.
Overall good, runs without any major issues
Since the lattest update (12.0), I started getting internet lag spikes, luckly it's kinda rare. Might be my wifi card's fault.
Do not alt tab while loading,if the game crashes try reseting the settings(via lauch options) or reinstalling the game.I'd suggest running Vulkan(change from DX in settings). The game used to be sometimes borked for a random period of time, but all the issues with anti-cheat seem to be gone. If you plan on playing songs/sfx via Soundux, you have to press your mic button in game for a sec, so the sink of the game can be detected. Most of performance issues are game's fault, game runs a bit better compared to windows.
Compared to my review from last year, it now works flawlessly, I even get more fps on linux compared to windows. Lag spikes aren't an issue anymore, alt-tabbing does not crash your game.
Just in case switch to experimentall
Sometimes theres an endless sound of rolling dice, might be game's fault, not proton's
Multiplayer works flawlessly
Runs without any problems
Sometimes sound of rolling dice bugs out, might be game's fault
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_DUMP_DEBUG_COMMANDS=1 %command%
*Lutris is usefull for installing FAF, however it's not needed for vanila FA
On two monitor setup game sometimes opens up on wrong monitor, Alt-Tab can be a bit buggy
Extremely rare desyncs can occur (might be just my internet though)
Game wouldn't launch for me without commands. I HIGHLY suggest getting FAF, there is tech support on their discord if you have any problems, they also have a webside: faforever com
