Use Proton, Native build seems buggy.
Game crashed some steam helpers which first lead to undetected controller then no overlay.
The game crashed the steam overlay and made steam hang after closing.
For some reason the My Documents symlink inside the proton prefix was broken, leading to the game being unable to save any data, deleting it and letting the prefix re-do itself fixed it, not sure why this happened in the first place, however.
Online Multiplayer worked fine.
Local works fine, both with controllers or keyboard.
Works fine, I had one small issue that doesn't seem related to the game.
Use Proton, Native doesn't close and that can lead to lost progress.
Native does not end the process after exit, using the "Stop" on steam to close it lead to lost progress once.
Controllers not detected on regular Proton, had to force Experimental for it to work.
Force experimental if controller
Native had FPS drops after some minutes of playtime, eventually leading to a crash and screwing up my steam cloud save.
Switched to Proton 7, forcing Vulkan with /gldevice:Vulkan
makes the Steam overlay work but it introduces some visual artifacts when dashing, so don't force Vulkan from the game, just let Proton do its thing.
Stutters and crashes on native, use Proton.
No issues found, though I feel performance might be slightly worse?
Native works fine, no Steam overlay though.
Overlay doesn't work, which means Steam Input might not be enabled and you may run into controller issues depending on your controller.
Kind of low-ish FPS, but nothing unplayable and you can just lower the settings.
Online works fine, no issues.
Game didn't boot with normal Proton, had to force experimental, though the only option I didn't test was the "safe mode" one, maybe that one boots.
Fullscreen does not like alt-tabbing, game goes back to the top almost always. Setting game to fullscreen windowed prevents this, but introduces a new issue in which taking a screenshot will put the cursor on the game instead of allowing you to control the camera, so don't take screenshots during critical moments.
Directx 11 option to launch, 12 didn't, other Proton versions do seem to work fine though.
Native gives me an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException when trying to get my display so it doesn't launch at all. Switching to Proton seems to work fine, however.
Had to use Proton because Native build had extremelly jittery camera movement, I'm glad I don't have epilepsia.
All good with Proton, it seems.
-force-opengl
on launch options
Random artifacts in some rooms, they could be fixed by reentering the room but it was somewhat disruptive, no more artifacts seen after switching to opengl
Low framerates with default (vulkan?) non-opengl for some reason
Played it native, no proton, however the default experience had lower framerates than expected which lead to input lag in rooms with too many effects or moving objects, also some random visual artifacts in some specific rooms.
Switching to opengl with -force-opengl
seems to have fixed both and now game works perfectly.
Did not run in current proton at all, downgrading allows the game to boot but it doesn't go through the first scene.
Tried adding ffdshow, quartz and other stuff mentioned here but wasn't able to make it work.
Proton 7 makes the game finally work, and it seems to work perfectly fine.
It works fine
I experience some crashes sometimes, they are pretty rare but annoying when they happen, my windows friends also crash sometimes but they seem more frequent on my side.
Importing spray is broken on linux, you'll need to use an external tool to get the sprays in if you want your own custom ones.
Game does not let you pick your input audio device if you plan on using the game's audio system, but afaik this is also an issue on windows so.
Only issues are those that happen on Windows as well.
Some crashes but overall works fine.
Crashes or freezes after a few hours of playing, 3 in 5 hours so far, always after a level is completed, but not frequent enough to be a deal breaker.
It finally works, huh.
Local coop works fine with keyboard and controller (didn't try multiple controllers at once)
I didn't try online, but I'd like to believe it works properly
Native works great without any major issues issues.
I believe the game uses borderless without an option to change it in-game, it renders a black border around the image, but it's not too bad.
Full screen is not fully full.
Forcing experimental actually installed air with no extra tweaking, not sure if it would break if it updates itself.
The audio does not go into the default configured device, I need to manually move the audio sink connections.
Force Proton, the game has a Linux build but it's a really old and abandoned version.
Game works fine as long as you aren't a speedrunner, if you are one then lack of bomb cascading is a big issue.
Bomb cascading does not work, making speedrunning with Proton a big disadvantage
Sometimes lightning or some texture layers seem not to render several times for a second, it's not frequent enough but can get distracting at times.
In-game mouse has some small delay, disable it.
Steam overlay doesn't work so you can't configure controllers using Steam Input within the game itself, you can still Right Click -> Manage -> Controller Layout from Steam on desktop so no biggie.
