Works fine.
Logitech F310 gamepad worked fine but I had to remap every button at first launch.
Excellent experience with ProtonGE. Singleplayer, multiplayer and zombies works as expected.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Both multiplayer and zombies work as expected.
There will be frequent stutters with default Proton (7.0-5 at the time writing).
Cannot connect to Racenet, so no global leaderboards or multiplayer. Except those it was a smooth experience.
Better than native
Better performance compared to native. Also no problem with controller(Logitech F310).
Works perfectly fine for me with the proton 4.11-13.
There is a little white dot on the screen when in a city or in a castle. But it's nowhere near a problem.
It crashed sometimes when using proton 5.0-6. But with proton 4.11-13 there is no such problem.
Game crashes with a DirectX error called: Function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET.
I guess the error pops up after a couple of fixed minutes. Because when I played this game with the same hardware but with a SSD, I could drive the car like a couple of minute or so. But with an HDD, I can't even see the car.
There were some problems but I'd say it was nearly flawless experience with Proton 5
Game crashed 2 times in 10 hours of gameplay(not in the important times and I don't think it was Proton's fault)
Steam overlay wasn't worked
Just install game and Proton then you are ready to go
Little performance loss compared to native version
Works out of the box
It launches fullscreen. But if you Alt-Tab(or use another virtual desktop etc.), it becomes windowed and you must restart the game to play fullscreen again.
It needs Origin to launch. However, you do not need to have Origin, wine or Lutris installed on your computer. Proton downloads and installs for you in first launch.
Despite the performance loss compared to Windows with my hardware, it's still an enjoyable experience.
I was having 100 to 150 fps in Windows with max graphics settings but in Linux I am having 60 fps with medium graphics settings.(resolution is 1920x1080 in both of them)
In Windows, I can connect my gamepad(Logitech F310) and start playing without changing the controller settings. In Linux, pre-configured controller setting for my gamepad is a mess. But you can edit the controller setting and you are ready to go.
