The game works immediately after downloading
The game does not require any additional configuration, the native version works great
No issues.
Alt-Tab results in the game crashing
Works great out of the box

Amazing game and amazing mods
When alt tabbing it would, I dont know how to describe it, lag out? Nonetheless, this might be related to wayland or pulseaudio, very likely
The native version is good, however, playing on proton is advised for mods; While the base game and dlcs work without issue on native, mods will lack fonts, so it is advisable to use proton for those.

One of my highest ranking games, I'm glad to see from my switch to Linux that this beauty is still playable. I've had no issues!
No issues at all, online multplayer has worked flawlessly.
Just load in and play your life away, I've done so with no regrets.

You must select proton4.11-13 or more lower. You can install DXSETUP.exe to support Directx 9(See my article at the end of this report).
Install DXSETUP.exe
Very Well
And you can Install the DXSETUP.exe to support Directx 9(View this article)

Native version works good out of the box
It rarely crashes. Although it doesn't seem to be an issue in singleplayer
Mods installed from the Steam Workshop may have problems with the text. This can be fixed by installing the mod from other sources (I don't know why it works) or by deleting a few files related to the game text

Run /DirectX/DXSETUP.exe to be able to use DirectX9 (more realistic graphics)
Native does not launch, use Proton 8.0-4

The native version installs, launches and runs at maximum performance, but crashes from time to time. Also, note that for the native version most likely will not work mods and custom language packs. Using other new versions of Proton (from version 5 to version 8) resulted in severe fps sags. It worked perfectly only on Proton 4.2-9 for me

No issues on openSuse Tumbleweed. Works of the box.
Had to use Steam's product key instead of the one used to activate the game in order to join a server.

Use Proton instead of Native
The native client fails to launch in my case, but everything works perfectly so far with Proton 8.0-2

Works out the box with Native

Broken under 8.x and GE, constant crashes on every other scene change or during the day changes in overworld
Works fine with proton. Native version has issues with mouse pointer.
Constant "rgl error: error on creating shaders: out of video memory". Lowering the settings only prolongs time before it happens
Unplayable, had to revert to Proton 6, at which point the issue disappeared completely

Both options: play or configure, return a missing executable error.
Works on the latest proton ge if you change the directx version to 7 from the launcher. But it crashed a couple times shortly after
Works perfectly without modifications. No problems detected
Some jank with using a TWM like i3 or BSPWM but otherwise fine
Steam overlay crashes game

Mouse cursor very-slightly dissappears and reappears when on map
Runs awesome

Works perfectly
Just download and play. That's it.

Both Native and Proton work
Although, use proton for better mod support
Opening the Steam overlay freezes the game on anything older than Proton 4.11-13.
If you only play Native, then Proton might not be necessary. Enable Proton if you want to play mods, but make sure to disable the Steam overlay if not using Proton 4.11-13 or older.
Runs great natively aside from a few minor bugs
A few sound effects seem to be missing like sword swinging. Battle music fails to kick in sometimes.
Some mods have borked textures.
The game asks for your serial key the first time you play online.
Proton fixes aforementioned issues but also brings its own share of them. I prefer native over Proton most of the time unless the game is unplayable, which this isn't.
Had to switch between a number of different Proton versions before finally finding one that worked.

Initially, the game kept crashing silently, or with Visual C++ runtime errors.
Meanwhile, this did not affect my friend running on Windows, who was also running the same mod as me and despite playing on the same server.
It was only after switching to Proton 4.11-13 that the game started running consistently, without crashing. I am not certain, but this may be down to 4.11-13 using WineD3D instead of DXVK, due to this being an older game/mod?
I experienced significant graphical degradation when using the native version with high graphics settings. Launching from Proton fixed these.
7.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Native version says "Incorrect serial number" when you try to play multiplayer. With Proton, everything is fine.
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
It doesn't work with Native, I could only play with Proton and selecting Directx9. Even with all of that, game randomly crashes when i join a war, enter a city, open my inventory etc.
Steam overlay will crash the game
You must select Directx 7 when you start the game or it will not work.

The game runs perfectly and doesn't need any tweaking
Had some fps drop in some battles and scenarios which i didn't have while playing on my laptop with native.
Had some crashes when opening steam interface during loadings.

Use proton always. Native version does not even launch or requires extensive tinkering, and even then it will crash sooner or later.
To fix the flickering mouse, apply this patch. Place it on the executable folder and run wine WarbandPatcher.exe and that's it.
FPS drops just like Windows. Native version runs at full speed... when it runs, only Xorg. Using Fedora 35 right now, I can run this game on Wayland.
error crash after open video
Both versions work, but Proton is more stable
Even though the game has a native version for Linux, running it through proton yields better results. The native version is a Russian roulette: Sometimes the game works fine, sometimes the it crashes every time you open your inventory, enter a city or open your party management screen. Despite the Proton version having worse FPS (it isn't that bad, but it is noticeable) I think it is preferable over the native version due to the stability, and not having to reopen your game every 20 minutes.
Native Linux version has issues with textures and resolution, using latest Proton is much better to play

Mouse pointer flickers while on the world map. While on Windows it comes with performance issues, here it's just a minor annoyance and after a while, not noticeable.
I had significant issues with low framerate while turning my view in battles. It seems to be an issue with Wine and "higher end" mice. The fix is to reduce mouse polling rate to 250 Hz.
I've played many mods, some may be unstable and require some tinkering. Too much tinkering may result in a lost save, in my case a save of 120+ hours -- I recommend making regular/automatic backups of your saves.
Corrupted saves are a 100% certainty for all of my runs. From what I've read, it seems like most other people aren't having this problem, but this issue has ruined for me what would otherwise be an insanely fun and addictive game.

Runs fine on Proton 6.11. Running the game with mods is easier on Proton than with the native Linux version.
The mouse cursor's visibility stutters significantly.
