-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60
Only tinkering I did was to increase the frame rate which can be done with my launch command. Works great.
Works perfectly out of the box with no tinkering
I just downloaded and played with no issues even with the EA app. People say the EA app breaks any game connected to it but in this case it prompted with a download and opened the game right away.
The game is great and all, but playing it on linux without intensive patching and whatever is not possible.
-disable-client-correction false -Client.VisualFrameInterpolation true -GameTime.MaxVariableFps 200 -RenderDevice.VsyncEnable 0 -Ant.InterpolatePoses false
Weird audio artifacts with the launch options I used
Game Locked and horrible performance issues without launch options. With the launch options, game was running smooth, but camera was so buggy that it was unplayable.
Tried using FMM, but got stuck on the symlink issue. Then tried the launch options from the patch (brawltendo) alone, which made the game run smooth, but the camera was spazzing out and some weird things were happening. Apparently there are ways of fixing that, but I don't want to spend more time figuring out, how to get the game running smoothly. Maybe I'll get back at a later point and give an update if I try the patch.
Usedto run quite well. After a recent update to the ea app, it crashes on launching. tried multiple proton versions
gamemoderun %command% -GameTime.MaxSimFps 54 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 54 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b" %command% -dataPath "ModData/Default"
Used protontricks to install Frosty Manager (can use bottles from flatpak), add as a steam non game works too.
The online works fine even the adittional locally close players.
The game itself its a completly mess port on windows, but you can fix this using the launch options and using some mods (i recommend Rival+). Change both 54 for your desired FPS. Choose the fps that dont drop by any reason or you game gonna brak some stuff.
Deleted kernel32.dll in system32 and syswow64 inside the proton prefix folder
Small stutters at the beginning
Does not launch. Crashes at various points with different Proton versions before seeing the menu.
gamemoderun %command%
With latest and default Steam +Proton 8.0-5 runs the same as on Windows. 1 Click to install, 1 click to play
Only probles are dc and migrating hosts, but that is normal for the game
Ran perfectly like it did on Windows, including its bad port.
Lowered down to medium settings.
Some text is a bit wonky on the steam deck screen.
Requires a bit tinkering with currently available solutions for gaming on Linux. But it works smoothly after that.
gamemoderun %command%
Installed EA App and login through Lutris. And launched game from Steam.
Wayland quirks
I don't know how I magically made the game to work. I think it was a Steam update that I got today. Anyway, I tried switching Proton versions a lot of times and I'm pretty sure I had tried 6.3-8 before without success. Anyway, after a long series of problems already depicted by others (game appears to be running but nothing happens, EA Play tries to install but nothing happens, etc...) things decided to work.
The game takes long to launch. Give a minute or two after it already says running and after EA Play already started. I did not delete kernel32.dll now, I did it before but it did not make any difference for my case.
In EA App set these commands to get 60 fps in game: -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60
-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60 -Render.ResolutionScale 1.9
If you have surround speakers (for example: 5.1) change to stereo before run game.
Game need internet connection even in single player.
Game shows as launching but never launches
gamemoderun %command%
Played through the tutorial fine, but then when it tried connecting to the EA servers online to start the actual live game, it seemed to get stuck (loading screen, multiple times). I restarted the game and disconnected my wifi once the EA app had started (so the game was started 'offline'). It then worked well and I was able to re-enable my wifi and re-connect without issue.
Text is extremely hard to read but besides that, game works fine

TDB Limit: 7, Manual GPU Clock: 1100
Runs well at native resolution with graphics settings at max.
Game crashes with a DirectX error called: Function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET.
I guess the error pops up after a couple of fixed minutes. Because when I played this game with the same hardware but with a SSD, I could drive the car like a couple of minute or so. But with an HDD, I can't even see the car.
30FPS Cap. The game is programmed to run at 30FPS only anyways.
You begin playing online instantly if you start the game with an active internet connection.
60 FPS unlock does not seem to do anything, that might be an issue with my hardware. Audio seems to sound different than I remember on my PlayStation 3, but that might also be the "Dynamic Range" setting in the menu. Other than that it works perfectly, hooking up controllers works flawlessly too.
Tested using Linux running on my MacBook Pro.
To unlock 60fps one has to pass -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60
to launch params. I don't know if it works if you just pass it in steam launch params, since I tried to launch the Origin that gets installed with the game, and add launch params there.
The command I had to use to launch Origin:
where USERNAME is the linux username for your system, and you also will need to change the path of proton executable in case you're not using Proton Experimental
SteamAppId=1262600 SteamGameId=1262600 STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="/home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1262600" STEAM_COMPAT_CLIENT_INSTALL_PATH="/home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam" /home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ -\ Experimental/proton run "c:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe"
Everything works fine
I had previously made a report, where the game was not running due to an origin crash. For it to work I have to change the language of the game to English from steam (game properties, language), I had it in Spanish. If I have it in another language it doesn't work, only in English.
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Works perfectly, using AMD FSR to increase performance on my APU (a feature of Proton GE activated using the prefix "WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1").
Origin crashes
I can't run the game because origin runs and then closes. I tried Proton-6.21-GE-2 and it doesn't work either.
Game does not have a chance to run as Origin constantly crashes!!
When attempting to run the game on any Proton verison (even GloriousEggroll), it tries to install Origin which never loads.
Works perfectly!
Typical(?) Origin pop-up windows on boot that self-close on exit. May not close properly when using the "Close" button in Steam. "Play" button in Steam may not immediately appear to work, but does in fact launch game after a few seconds.
Worked perfectly without any extra tinkering
1080p max settings with xbox wireless controller, game has 30FPS lock and is cross-platform with PC and consoles, all in all really good game.
Runs very smoothly, graphics are amazing. The biggest disadvantage is that the Xbox controller doesn't work properly.
The Xbox controller had an invalid mapping and this game doesn't have any settings for controller mapping. But I guess the same issue would be present on Windows.
Working perfectly out of the box.
Uses Origin which can sometimes be a pain under Proton - the game itself runs fine however.
Working perfectly out of the box.
Origin can be a pain, but the game works fine.
Runs out of the box without any issues (even the multiplayer)
In my case the fullscreen game instantly promotes itself to the top if i tab out so I moved it to the second desktop and switched between desktops to get out of it
It feels really sluggish (but the last time I played on Windows is years ago) and I don't really know if the addition of "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60" in Origin actually improved anything
To get 60fps I added this launch option in the steam without the quotes: "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60 +"
Proton-5.11-GE-1-MF GloriousEggroll
https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Using Proton GE build ( latest ) i was able to play this game without any issues or deleting any files as stated in earlier reports.
Enjoy :D
4.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/4.21-GE-1
I need delete kernel32.dll from system32 and syswow64 and using old proton version
Proton-5.11-GE-1-MF GloriousEggroll
I can start origins loggin windows and when goes to origins main page crash and game dont start.
i tryed delete kernel32.dll but don't help
After change to proton 5.0.9, just click and play, the game runs in 30 fps but completely playable.
To run origin without problem you need to delete kernel32.dll from system32 and syswow64 inside game prefix in "/Steam Games/steamapps/compatdata/1262600/pfx/drive_c/windows"
Its basicaly start game and play, with the last version of proton, the only point that I don't like is to execute Origin inside Steam.
Game runs nice with proton 5.0.9, not with good frametimes and capped in 30fps, to run smooth left Esync enabled, I need to delete kernel32.dll from system32 and syswow64 inside proton prefix to play the game.
it is playable... without sound except music and without a gamepad... you may have to start and close the game a few times to get it set up
narrator voice is missing and engine sounds are broken
DualShock 4 controller is not recognized
