In-game chat does not work
Ran out of the box. Played a small battle. With DX11 i got ~80fps, with DX9 (OpenGL) ~50fps and with DX9 (D9VK) ~60fps.
Runs fine using OpenGL out of the box. For Vulkan i had to disable the Steam overlay. Proton version was selected by "Valve testing", since it's running fine i didn't change it.
Works fine out of the box with either DX11 or DX12
Launcher at max, similat to DW:U
There is a guide on how to get it running in steam https://steamcommunity.com/app/1531540/discussions/0/5561388294330949122/
Unfortunately, this didn't work for me on the first try.
No change with 4.11. Still the same error: Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.MarshalDirectiveException: [MarshalAs] attribute required to marshal arrays to managed code. at (wrapper native-to-managed) System._AppDomain.Load(intptr,intptr,intptr) [ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.Runtime.InteropServices.MarshalDirectiveException: [MarshalAs] attribute required to marshal arrays to managed code. at (wrapper native-to-managed) System._AppDomain.Load(intptr,intptr,intptr)
works fine
Feels unpleasant in the current state.
The games feels sluggish, light/shadow seems to be wrong (too bright/too dark; need to compare to current windows version though, only played an early version so far) FPS wise: getting +100fps@1440p with an RTX2060 with all things maxed out.
Feels sluggish
Menu background is plain white, no video is displayed.
I have tried PROTON_USE_WINED3D
which resulted in roughly 50% fps drop and everything went super dark. Using PROTON_NO_D3D11
resulted in game not starting at all.
I still think that brightness/shadows/shading doesn't match 100% to windows.
In my previous report i was unhappy with the game, but as it turned out the problem went away when switching graphic to medium. This is not an fps problem (i had ~100fps before) but more likely related to micro stutter. With lower settings i'm at ~120 fps and the games feels normal, not sluggish anymore.
Had some minor stutters from now to then but nothing special.
Played through the free part of the game. Oh and missing vsync gave my eye cancer...
Screen stays black.
Installing the UE runtime worked fine for me, but after the initial logo, the screen stays black. Pressing a key, like ESC, results in a complete freeze.
Starting the game from it's installation folder with "nomal" wine, works fine. The performance is not the best, it seems to be running fine after all (using DXVK)
Played through the tutorial. At the end the game froze. Beside that everything went fine so far.
Using MangoHud causes (minor) graphical glitches.
Runs fine on 1440p on ultra. Only crashes if i tab out and beside this i only had two hangs. Beyond that everything is fine.
Not perfect but overall ok!
Saves are located inside the wine prefix, lost everything when removing it to switch to Proton-GE :(
Haven't compared with windows but i'd expected more FPS. Using Proton-GE did not help much.
Feels like the original
Crashed once after 70mins and hangs when exiting from the main menu.
10-15 fps is unplayable.
~10-15 fps with DXVK, using WINED3D yielded a few more fps but introduced graphical glitches.
Played the first chapter of the campaign. Runs smooth. There were some really minor graphic glitches (that might just belong to the game?). Game doesn't start when using D9VK.
Out of the box, the games crashes after the launcher, as most others reported, too.Using dgVoodoo2 it runs fine.
Use dgVoodo2 with these launch options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw.dll,d3dimm.dll,d3d8.dll,d3d9.dll=n,b"
You can find installation instructions in the downloaded archive.
