Works out of the box.
Played for 9 hours – mostly on my desktop PC with PS4 gamepad – a few short sessions on Steam Deck. Everything runs fine. Even button prompts are correct.
Played the whole campaign (12 hours) with X-Box 360 Controller. Everything works out of the box.
Played through the whole game on Steam Deck (~13 hours). No single issue. Works out of the box.
Graphics and performance are ok after installing mesa-git, but missing audio spoils the fun
NPC, Radio and various audio missing due to the game assuming surround output.
Singleplayer runs out of the box. Ryzen 3700X, RX 5700, Arch Linux, Proton 5.0-10. Tested Mouse / KBD aswell as Xbox 360 Gamepad.
Native version ran out of the box. Played through the whole game [german language]. No problems.
Crashes immediately
Tried with current Proton, Proton Experimental and Glorious Egg Roll. Game didn't start.
GPU hangs after shader compilation
As the title says: in a fresh install GPU hangs after ingame shader compilation. When reusing that install the GPU hangs in / after that first loading screen when you try to start a new game.
No more GPU hangs after kernal + mesa update on Arch Linux
After the latest kernal and mesa updates the game runs fine – at least the beginning (played through the tutorial / intro mission).
I also removed amdvlk completely from my system as the game for some reason recognized radv and amdvlk showing two monitors in the settings, but the rendering was weird with either setting.
Played through the whole game (4 hours) with a X-Box 360 Controller. Everything works out of the box.
Works out of the box. Enjoyable when not using cloud saves.
Trying to use cloud saves across multiple devices can result in empty save files. Turned cloud saves off. According to steam forums the problem can occur on Windows too.
Played through the whole game on my Steam Deck. Completion around ~80%.
No problems other than broken cloud saves – which according to steam forums isn't a Deck / Linux specific problem, but happens on Windows too when using more than one device.
My daughter played ~8 hours in little sessions over the last couple of months on Steam Deck. No problems at all.
I played the campaign to 100% completion in ~16 hourswith a PS4 gamepad. Got stable 60 FPS ingame. Occasional drops to ~30 in cutscenes. Loading was very fast even though I "only" have a PCIE 3 NVMe (Samsung 970 EVO).
There was a single crash in a cutscene, but I wasn't able to reproduce it, so I didn't check the checkbox here.
Settings used: Medium preset @ 1440p with FSR quality & VSYNC on.
Game kept crashing with Proton 8. Forcing last Proton 7 version did fix it.
Switch to Proton 7.0-6 to prevent crashing.
Works perfectly out of the box
Played the whole game ~27 hours, 85%, with PS4 controller. Got all achievements. I also did play a few hours on my Steam Deck, so I know cloud saves are perfectly working and the game itself is working on the Deck fine.
Didn't even bother trying other Proton versions than Experimental because of the EA App. First start crashed after self update of the EA App. But after killing all *.exe processes and restart I could login and never had a problem since then.
Played ~11 hours with PS4 pad. Game runs fine ingame with mostly stable 60 FPS, occasionally stutters when reaching a new area or traversing very quickly through the level. There are more frequent stutters in cutscenes.
Graphics settings all seem to do nothing. Tried to get rid of traversal stutter, but perfomance didn't change at all – at least on my machine.
But afaik it has the same perfomance / stutter issues on Windows too.
Game worked well for me when playing with mouse and keyboard instead of a controller.
Controlling the camera with right stick on the controller results in massive frame drops.
Played the whole main game (49 hours) with some texture mods. Everything worked fine except the uncapped framerate default.
created dxvk.conf file for VSYNC to avoid crashing (set: d3d9.presentInterval = 1).
Game crashed a lot before activating VSYNC with dxvk.conf. Same problem exists on Windows.
