Works brilliantly on native
During the track that plays in Purple Tentacle's office in the future (with classic music), one of the instruments is extremely loud, drowning out everything else. This might also be present in the Windows release but I've not checked.
Pretty much a perfect experience, except for the small issue with the instrument.

Worked perfectly out of the box

MANGHOHUD_CONFIG=full,no_display strangle 120 mangohud %command%
Oddly enough the Native version actually didn't work for me. I was greeted with a black screen on startup and there was nothing I could do to fix it. Make sure to try it out for yourself though because I've seen a lot of positive feedback on it.
The game works perfectly under Proton though, even the bonus version of the original Maniac Mansion that's included as an easter egg. The only issue is that the game doesn't have a frame limiter. So if you have an incredibly high refresh rate on your display (like I have on my laptop), you might want to limit the framerate with something like libstrangle
like I did here.

i made the config
everything works as expected, even the ingame version of Maniac Mansion

Native version runs perfectly fine.
Finished the game itself two times in a row (replaying the game, playing it every now and then since 1993 because it's so good; now playing the Steam-Version for the first time) without any problems. Also, the embedded "Maniac Mansion" works fine, so can enjoy the full package with this (linux-native) version.
Native version ran out of the box. Played through the whole game [german language]. No problems.

Different save game path when starting via Heroic than when starting in install folder with start.sh
Native Linux version. Bought on GOG.com that's why I used Heroic Games Launcher and did not try playing with Steam.
Ich habe nur das Layout geändert, damit macht es richtig Spaß einen Klassiker zu spielen.
The game runs awesome from start to finish!

The game works awesome
I had no problems with the game
Just set it to use Proton 7.0-2 to fix the audio, and everything works fine. Played the whole game start to finish on the deck (including the Maniac Mansion game-within-a-game on Ed's PC) and everything worked perfectly.
No sound at all
Linux native version has no sound at all on Steamdeck. Use proton.
The game defaults to a native version but it has no sound. Forcing the use of Proton (tested 7.0-1) in Compatibility options solves the issue.
The game features full controller support.
Work fine, a pleasure to find it on my thinkpad ;)

Game works fine native and on Proton.
