Video playback and monitor capture doesn't work. Only shows a black screen.
Rename launcher.exe to something else and rename borderlands.exe to launcher.exe. I only experienced a couple freezes until i turned down the quality settings.
You are able to install and run the game but seems to get stuck on a mission with the objective "watch monitor".

A few minor graphical bugs when zoomed out.
After 4 hours the UI disappeared and i was unable to move.
Ran perfectly using the tweaks described by the others. Add "PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%" as a startup option to avoid crashes, Disable uPlay overlay to avoid black screen and finally make uplay run in offline mode. When you exit the game steam might still consider the game running due to uPlay not shutting down automatically.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="mfplay.dll=d" %command%
Sometimes your controller will not be detected. In order to fix it enter the main menu and then go back to the title screen.
Out of the box the game would freeze upon selecting your character in training mode. In order to fix it either drop to Proton 5.13 or use "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="mfplay.dll=d" %command%" in launch options. The issue is described here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/4894
Singleplayer works out of the box, but to play multiplayer you need to add "WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d %command%" to the launch options to stop the game from crashing.

The game will sometimes crash when playing in the Krypt. Other than that i've never experienced any sort of stability issues in 50+ hours of playing.
Haven't tried storymode yet but most of the previous reports indicate that the GE fork is required to play it.
Runs flawlessly out of the box.
While the base game and Afterbirth DLC runs natively, the Repentance and Afterbirth+ DLC does not.
Other than the controller issue the game functioned perfectly.
In order to get past the initial menu, you have to rebind the controllers. There's plenty of community made mappings available. This was tested on the Index controllers.
