Overall great experience
40Hz and High preset
The game launches, a splash shows and the cursor changes but the game stays black after that.
The "Steam Deck" graphics preset didn't perform well enough for me, I went with medium & FSR instead.
I set vsync in-game to max 60 fps, because the steam gamemode frame limiter didn't work.
Some inventory text can be very hard to read.
Runs perfectly fine. Great controller support.
Graphical options on first launch only. Not controller friendly, but touch screen works.
Short and sweet (and free), no major issues on Linux or Deck
There is an initial launch window. Use the right trackpad as mouse to set the correct resolution and launch the game.
The default developer controller settings map to keyboard and mouse. The mappings are good but the main menu has to be navigated with the right trackpad.
Some text is a bit small
The default resolution is wrong, make sure to change it.
No Linux-specific issues whatsoever
Cursor staying on screen and disconnects are game and server issues. I played the game on Windows too.
Installed vcrun2019 to fix launch issue. Probably necessary for REDLauncher, which you might be able to bypass altogether.
Mouse on left trackpad for map view
REDLauncher is annoying. You can add --launcher-skip to your launch options. You are also asked to log into gog the first time you start the game, offline mod is possible.
Most text is small.
Needs some minor tinkering to start properly, but plays great. You might not need vcrun2019 if you use --launcher-skip.
Runs fine native if you restart every now and then
After a while the menus respond slower. Sliders become unresponsive and clicking is laggy.
I also tried to run with Proton-GE, but the game was using the wrong font and felt slower overall. In the end I chose to run native and restart when the menu slowness becomes too noticable.
Too much keyboard inputs needed to play on Deck
Tried to assign buttons to input commands. Not really supported, but worked to some extent.
Most text is slightly too small
This game really needs a keyboard. There's too much typing involved, which is very hard to map to controller inputs. The on screen keyboard also covers the input preview.
PSN requirement was a mistake
The game launches, asks for some initial settings, then complains it has no internet connection when it needs to link a Playstation account.
40Hz mode
Crackling after waking from sleep, restart fixes it.
Runs at a locked 60 fps out of the box with no tweaking on the highest (default) graphical settings.
Runs perfectly out of the box
On the first launch, the controller button prompt for saving your profile name does not work. Use the trackpad and click the button instead.
Has a progression-stopping issue.
The default layout does not take advantage of the trackpads for a game that relies heavily on point and clicking.
You cannot run 3DMark in-game, which stops you from completing many contracts.
Minor artifacting at screen edges
15 fps on the main island with low cpu/gpu usage
-vulkan
It didn't actually want to launch for me at first until I manually switched to Proton Experimental. Probably something like old caches from the early access version that broke something.
I often got long stutters (1+ second) mainly while exploring until I switched to Vulkan. Changing the rendering backend in-game was often greyed out and kept reverting itself, so best to use the launch option to set it.
No longer start with latest update :(
With the length of this game (90 minutes), controller support and broken text, it doesn't seem worth the effort to play it on deck.
Some text displays as empty characters
Prepare to do some manual mapping: official controller support is broken and the game needs some arbitrary keyboard inputs at certain times (space and numbers)
Some text in the settings menu is invisible.
Some z-fighting on certain objects
Runs really well
Origin install on first launch, showed up on some but not all subsequent launches.
Aside from the Origin bloat, the game itself runs really well with a locked 60fps at the default settings.
Had to change resolution to 1280x720. Game does not support 16:10 aspect ratio, so you'll have black bars.
Some text is very small. Quite surprising considering this game is also for mobile.
