Worked for about a month (online and offline) using 6.3-5, but appears to be broken after the latest in-game update.
Worked for about a month using 6.3-5. Worked for a few days after the latest Bloons update. However, upon restarting my machine Bloons showed up as uninstalled. Now upon installation I get the same 5mb install size reported by MutantSpider, followed by the disk write error. Issue persists with other versions of Proton.
Other games still install and run. I can confirm that this is isolated to Bloons TD 6.
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Game ran like native on the 7-38 release of GE, until a system-wide update causing an immediate game crash upon launch. The tinker/launch options listed by many (PROTON_LOG=1 %command%) worked, and the game again runs like native again.

Minor stutters only where video stutters were also present.
Extreme graphical issues, best described as "looking thru blurry glass." Oddly enough, changing graphics settings still made the textures crisp(er), and FPS was stable at 144+. These issues do not effect menus, HUD text, minimap, or the Sony loading animations. They do effect the background of the main menu, cut scenes, and the in-game world.
Occasional stutters, minimal with newest GE and Proton versions
I've been tinkering with this for a couple hours and unfortunately I'm closing in on the point where can no longer refund the game if I keep testing solutions. I have attempted multiple proton versions, multiple GE versions, the couple of launch options mentioned in the other reports
Each version of proton seems to get a little further into the load sequence
Attempted to use several versions of proton ranging from 5.x to experimental + GE. Used several launch flags recomended by other users with no results.
Protons 5.x fails to show any prompts before crashing. Proton 6.x and 7.0-1 load to the black and white rockstar loading screen, where it hangs indefinitely. GE 7.14 actually brings up the rockstar setup menu with language selection, installs dependencies, launches the game, then crashes with an error "Unable to launch game, please verify game data." Verifying game data obviously does not help.
After spending the last couple hours trying GTA5-specific troubleshooting suggestions posted to github, I'm calling this one borked for my system.
Launches but does not load a window.
Tried various proton versons including GE with the same results. Online results suggest this game once worked on 6.x, and that a game update broke something which was never fixed (at least for some systems).
I tried multiple versions of proton (including GE) and could only get this running with 3.7-8.
Definitely stable enough to play. The occasional restart is not intrusive to an idle type game.
Once noticed that the text showing the contents of a chest was missing. Never occurred again across 50+ hours of play.
Clicking window/dialog options sometimes became broken or required multiple clicks (possibly triggered by adjusting window size). Always fixed by restarting game.
Game would not launch on any except the oldest version of proton. Directx would install fully, then crash without throwing a message window. Not even a black screen. Could be a problem exclusive to arch+nvidia, but I can't be sure. Version 3.x of proton was fully functional for me.
The game would be perfectly playable if games could be saved and loaded, even considering the occasional crash.
"How to Play" menu appears to be missing pictures, or perhaps just artifacts.
I'm a bit unclear if this game actually supports savegames. I could not continue my game after closing the game normally, or after crashes. No obvious menu items for saving a game is present.
Crashed after ~2 hours of continuous play.
Absolutely playable. The few problems I have had would not be out of place on a new windows OS, considering the age of the game.
Things get a little bit stuttery when driving vehicles or scrolling fast. More than would be expected given my hardware specs. Note: I am using the 1080p launch options.
Rare crashes. Ive had 2 across 6 hours of play.
Game launched on old nvidia drivers, but suffered from huge FPS and tearing issues.
A system update including nvidia drivers rendered the game unlaunchable. Various Proton versions attempted, including GE9-9. Game was refunded shortly after.
