The game itself should work if you put commands into the launch options otherwise smooth sailing after that.
Had to put in commands into the launch options in order to get playing a game: PROTON_NO_ESYC=1 PROTON_USED_WINED3D=1 %command%
Put in PROTON_NO_ESYC=1 PROTON_USED_WINED3D=1 %command% into launch options.

I'm sure that people will be able to enjoy this game and have fun.
Runs like a beauty though I would change some of the controls in settings to fix modern PC gaming standards
I had to use this in order to prevent crashes: https://github.com/solsticegamestudios/GModCEFCodecFix
Requires the user of a externel program: https://github.com/solsticegamestudios/GModCEFCodecFix

Some textures in relation to showing sprays are blank in the proton version
I've experienced crashes from time to time with the native build.
It's working quite well despite the crashes.
Like I said above.
You'll either need for proton play: https://github.com/robotboy655/gmod-lua-menu or non proton play: https://github.com/solsticegamestudios/GModCEFCodecFix

Steam Overlay won't work with the method used.
It worked quite well.
I would avoid using the steam-native-runtime package from Arch if you want to experience this native on Linux. Also use the GModCEFCodecFix.
No problems with playing this game

This game needs a fix if anything is to work on properly on native Linux. If you run Proton, you will see a blur effect that will never go.
It's almost like the game broke or something due to a update.
The settings would say one thing and report the other. Mouse input was lower than expected and changing the settings didn't do a single thing.
An update has broken the locale support on the native Linux version.
Missing textures and so on. It's almost like the game failed to load anything.

For the most part, I think people can play this game without any big issues but it could use some improvement.
Text looks buggy and custom playermodels don't load when downloaded and saved.
Expect some bugs but it's not too major to hinder gameplay but you might have problems reading text in chat.
Issues were addressed and fixed with a later version of Proton.

Removed the standard libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4 and created a symlink from /lib/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4
Audio might not play so type into terminal on fedora: sudo ausearch -c 'hl2_linux' --raw | audit2allow -M my-hl2linux and sudo semodule -i my-hl2linux.pp
Fix for Fedora 38: I fixed this bug by removing the libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4 library in the bin folder in the tf2 folder and making a symbolic link to the libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4 library from the system. But it is worth installing packages, by command sudo dnf install gperftools gperftools-devel gperftools-libs.i686
Note: create a symlink from /lib/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4
This game runs really well and I didn't have any issues while playing.

You shouldn't expect any problems playing this game. It works perfectly.
