Error: DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine
The game displays the above message at launch and will not launch the game. I'm using an older PC (an Alienware Alpha with the 860m) so it is below the minimum specs but haven't had this error pop out on other recent games.
Installs Uplay but game does not launch (black screen). Tried the various fixes to no effect.
Runs perfectly. On install it selects Proton 3-16.4 as the default version. I didn't change it as it works flawlessly.
The game installs into an empty directory and does not run.
The game installs and works fine via Lutris.
The game does not launch. Missing API-MS-WIN-CORE-SYSTEMTOPOLOGY-L1-1-0.DLL
I haven't dug into it to find the missing DLL and install it. There might be a possible fix via protonworks. Whatever the case, on my hardware the game does not launch.
I have high end hardware but am running the game at the highest settings at UHD. I'm not having any problems at all.
Can't confirm relative to Windows since I've only played it on Linux but there's some slowdown during cutscenes.
5.09 Next branch in the beta options.
Frame dips and stutters occasionally.
Game has crashed twice in the first few hours of playing. Crashes back to the desktop. Save often.
Game Borked (Again) After 5GB Patch
The game launched and I put 5 hours into it. Today there was a 5GB patch and at launch an error dialog popped up at launch telling me there was an internal error then providing a bunch of hexadecimal codes. Game no longer launches with Proton 5.09 Next.
Launches to Black Screen
Game launches to black screen and doesn't load. No combination of keys or controller input pushes it forward.
Without controller support I don't think the game is worth playing.
Xbox One S and Dualshock 4 controllers were not detected by the game in either bluetooth or USB mode.
If you are happy with KBM then the game works and runs fine. To me this game was designed to be used with a controller and without controller support I just can't play it. Other EA Play games work with a controller - Mass Effect Andromeda for example works fine.
I played through FFXIII on Linux and the performance was significantly better. I used the same fix for FFXIII-2.
Not sure if it's a Linux issue but my Xbox S controller worked fine but the game used keyboard layout.
Game stutters and runs at an unacceptably low frame rate.
When the game is launched I can hear the music but there is no window for the game visible.
I tried every proton version from 5.0.10 to 6.3.8 and the latest GE and Proton Experimental.
EA Play on Steam. Game install / Origin Launches but game doesn't run.
I installed the EA Play version. The game installs and Origin launches however Origin shuts down and closes down the game before it launches after a dialog box pops up to tell me that my hardware doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
Game stopped launching with latest Origin update...
Looks like the Origin client updated and the game stopped launching. I've rebooted and tried Proton 5.13 and Proton 5.9GE but neither works. Sometimes the game won't launch the Origin client. Some times it launches the client and then exits it. Some times it launches the client and a black screen for the game but the game doesn't launch into the menu screen.
The server is not reachable, check your internet connection and click "Retry".
Hitting retry does not fix the problem. Hitting next kills the launch process.
The game does not install. It installs into an empty directory but can not run as there are no files in the directory.
The game installs and runs fine via Lutris.
Does not launch beyond the initial load while checking easy anti-cheat.
Game installs and launches into a black window then shuts down.
Steam runs through the process and game appears to load without an error. The last message on the terminal is:
No cached sticky mapping in ActivateActionSet.No cached sticky mapping in ActivateActionSet.Fossilize INFO: Setting autogroup scheduling.
Not sure what that means - an internet search did not find any hits.
Does not launch or launches to an invisible screen before crashing
It used to work very well under Proton 5.21 but it no longer launches. It launches to an invisible screen under Proton Experimental before crashing. It does not launch under 5.13.4.
