Works perfectly OOTB, it seems the previously mentioned launcher issue is fixed :)
Runs almost perfect OOTB, some minor lightning oddities (but i don't know if they aren't also on windows)
Performance is borderline sometimes, occasional short stuttering is pretty common
5.11-GE-2-MF GloriousEggroll
GE
Proton 5.0-9 won't register the mouse, with 5.11-GE-2-MF that issue was gone
It's a real shame, everything works perfectly OOTB, but the stuttering is just too bad. GE 6.9 and 6.21 weren't able to launch at all
DXVK_ASYNC=1 helps a bit
Generally perfectly smooth framerates, but extremely annoying short stuttering every few seconds, bad enough for a refund
Proton-5.6-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
use amdvlk instead of RadV
pretty annoying graphics glitches with radv (probably related to NAVI10, as no other reports mention it?), but all good with amdvlk (VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/amd_icd64.json %command% in launch options to enable it, at least on manjaro)
Works out of the Box, but Steam overlay isn't working and it has a strange stutter to it - doesn't feel like low FPS or shader compiling though. Sometimes the sound seems to be off, but i don't know if thats proton or the game itself.
Runs OOTB (on Index), but hast horrible performance while CPU and GPU are more or less idling.
"PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" or "PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%" did not help in my case
Work well OOTB
controls are very clunky at best - but i assume that's on windows, too
The studdering is pretty bad at times, otherwise it runs well after fixing the sound with protonticks
protontricks 579110 xact -- required, else the game is silent.
very annoying reprojection stuttering when moving the head
Initially couldn't hold 144FPS but hovered around 90 with 100% GPU Utilization. After changing to GE-Proton9-4 i first had the same behaviour, but soon came down to around 60% Utilization with stable 144FPS. So maybe just compiling shaders?
Runs well in general if wineD3D is used, but looks terrible to a point that it makes it hard to enjoy.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Doesn't start with DXVK and looks pretty awful with wineD3D
Splash screen is shown but results in crash report window, tried 6.3 and 6.19-GE without luck
Runs out of the box, performance is good. Sometimes i get short, weird mouse-jerks, don't know if they are related to proton.
Needs a minute to settle after launch, runs well afterwards - biggest issue is that you can't select other ships
Runs pretty well - i had so close first run because it didn't show in the HMD, after that, everything fine (besides videos)
Video category won't work as videos don't load, probably some windows media issue
the Demo works perfectly OOTB, so that's good even considering the full released will have a linux native version, too
blackscreen on first start (simply press spacebar) and some black particles/sprites. Other than that i get pretty blurry text, but i remember that being the case in windows, too.
Runs well until you are about to take over control, then crashes
Seems to run well on first glance, menu loaded up and the first camera sweep works, but then crashes with "fatal error" - it seems right when you are about to take over control. Tried with 6.3, experimental and 6.18-GE - all the same result
Runs without issues, the only little annoyance is that an UE-Component fails to install but keeps popping up at every start
As VR does not work in native, i tried proton. The game runs, VR works, but sound stops after loading and performance is not that great.
Runs well OOTB - didn't try Multiplayer yet though
In the first "tutorial", the movements are quite choppy (while FPS seem fine), after that everything runs well
Use Launch Option "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 "/path_to_your_library/War Thunder/win32/aces.exe" %command% -NoLauncher" to start directly, as hitting "play" in the launcher won't launch successfully. Runs mostly flawless with 3-4 times the FPS of the crippled native version.
with proton 4.2-3 it finally works out of the box without launch parameters! FPS similar to Windows and WAY higher than native (seemingly abandoned :< ) client.
Besides having to press esc on the black screen in the beginning, everything runs excellent
