This is the first time I could ever get this game to boot and be playable! Good work guys!! Still not perfect. Game chugges more than it should given my hardware specs.
I needed to properly install Vulkan and change the Doom settings over to Vulkan. I could play it in OpenGL but Vulkan is waaay smoother.
Hopefully this is what the future of Linux gaming looks like. Given the lightness of Linux it should always out perform Windows. This game does just that.
The pre-game window opens up and I can do things such as adjust settings. However, when I press "Play", the game instantly crashes.
Run this command after a fresh install but before first starting the game and it should run very smooth.
"cd path/to/steamapps/common/Jet\ Set\ Radio/ && rm jsrsetup.exe && mv jetsetradio.exe jsrsetup.exe"
Crashes on startup everytime. I took several minutes attempting various launch options, nothing worked.
The game crashes on startup. I have tried the suggested fixes below but none worked.
I tried just disabling PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1, I tried PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1, I tried Proton version 4.2-9, I tried Proton version 4.11-3, and I tried every combination there of. Each crash at startup was a little different, but each iteration of the game was still a crash.Try harder boys.
I needed to use Wine D3D, but more specifically use the launch option: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
The specific error I had can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/383980/discussions/2/1735465524714627411/
Runs like native after minor tweaks.
Using the launch option "-onethread" let's the game start. Once there, it runs perfectly.
I have had no problems, as described before, with a black room after first receiving my guns.
However, alt-tab'ing out of the game while it is running leaves it in a black screen once returning. Simply stopping the application and resarting solves the problem.
Another first to work for me. Runs flawlessly with the expection of some weird mouse controls in the introduction scene.
This is the first time I have been able to play this game in Proton! Still think this one runs a little laggy.
The game times out after 'Steam Authorization Successful'. I get the error "Failed to connect to Steam WebAPI: Timeout" .
I have had this game work for previous drivers but not this one. I only have sound, the screen is black.
Had this working on previous versions. Now it will go to a breif loading screen before completely crashing.
My friend (on windows) suggested this game to me and it is finally working!
No problems loading in. I am playing with a wired PS4 controller.
This feels like what PCMasterRace'ing in the early 2000's must have felt like. This game runs smoooth.
