Works perfectly fine except for the small exit thing.
Does not exit properly and needs to be stopped via steam.
Game crashed reliably when leaving via alt-tab and did not resume.
The graphical glitches are just too common for me to be able to recommend playing this game on proton at the moment.
Using any graphic setting above medium the hacking sections are entirely unusable as they consist of nothing but graphical artifacts (randomly colored squares mostly). With settings on medium or low these parts work fine, however there are further graphical bugs around what I guess should be reflections, which show as white circles with some black pixels in them. The game is kinda playable on medium but its far from ideal.
Sometimes the game does not properly quit and needs to be killed via other means.
As the glitches can be seen within the first 5 minutes of the game maybe testing and refunding it is an option.
Game works fine when the mesa radeon drivers are used instead of the AMDGPU ones.
The game locks up on exit and needs to be killed.
Heavy graphical artifacts when AMDGPU drivers are used as described in my previous review. Hacking interface is unusable with graphic settings on anything above medium. Additional graphical artifacts around reflection effects.
Game did immediately crash when launching with the default proton version. Forcing it to experimental makes the game work perfectly fine.
Co-Op games sometimes hang with black screens and one player freezing but this seems to be unrelated to linux.
Game immediately exists after the initial splash screen.
Without any manual tinkering the game does not continue past the initial splash screen.
Starting a game crashes the entire system
I tried using the automatic patch mentioned by several other users here (https://github.com/Linux74656/SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches)
With this patch I'm able to get into the main menu but starting an actual game leads first to graphical glitches and then a complete system freeze. Apparently this has something to do with new AMD graphic cards (Issue 7 on the above github page) but the suggested fix of setting voxel quality to the lowest setting did not work either.
Game is playable without bigger problems except sometimes hanging on start and some small key press responsiveness issue
This might actually be a problem on windows too, but sometimes the keyboard responsiveness feels kinda weird. In the dialog menus sometimes the first few keypresses don't seem to be registered but this is not much of a problem.
Sometimes the game does not immediately start. Steam thinks its running and is unable to stop it but the game never properly opens. Killing the process and starting it again is enough to get it working though.
If you are willing and have the option to skip 2 parts of the game using a windows machine the rest works fine
As others have written before, in the beginning of the game no input is recognized be it mouse or keyboard. I only circumvented this problem when first playing because I started on windows. After the initial screen all inputs work mostly fine.
In addition there is some weird issue in dialogs where the first one or two key presses are ignored, but this isn't much of a hindrance.
The beginning of chapter 4 ends in a black screen. Normally a cutscene should play but this never happens on linux. There is also no sound or any other indication of the game continuing. Loading the save on windows, bypassing the first scene of chapter 4 and then continuing on using proton works fine and I was able to finish the game.

Game itself runs fine but the constant crashing is extremely annoying. If you can stomach that..its perfectly fine.
Game crashed approximately every 30 minutes or so. More common in combination with alt-tabbing but even without the game is extremely unstable for me. Tested multiple Wine, lutris-wine and Proton/Proton-GE versions and all of them had this problem.
Worked perfectly fine the whole playthrough. Some minor performance bugs and one crash, but those are most likely caused by the game itself.
Game runs far better using proton. Observed somewhat frequent network disconnects but those might be server problems rather than proton.
Works fine except for the voice chat.
The connection to the voice chat server fails but can be skipped. Communication has to be done via 3rd party tool.
Game locks up on exit. Has to be force quit using steam.
Works perfectly fine expect for the voice chat issue.
