Valve Index - Game works flawlessly out of box
Controls are a little glitchy with the knuckles controllers, but I don't believe that is a proton issue.
Great game with a choppy framerate
Slightly choppy framerate, leading to more nausea than many games I've played in Linux VR
If you have solid VR legs, you should be able to plow through the slightly choppy framerate, but I can generally only play for 30 minutes or so before nausea takes stops me.
Game ran perfectly out of the box.
To install mods, I used https://github.com/geefr/beatsaber-linux-goodies/tree/master/QBeat which did an excellent job, but this was totally unnecessary, as the game ran well with most custom levels even without this.
Valve Index - Proton version works great for VR out of the box
Native version works great, too, but doesn't support VR.
Game runs just as well as the "First Steps" demo!
Didn't load the first time when loaded from steamvr directly, but loaded fine when loaded from the steam desktop interface (possibly just a one time issue)
I've beaten the game in proton and it's been a flawless experience.
The first run didn't work from steam vr for me, but I think this was a steam issue (linux steamvr is hot garbage), as it's run flawlessly ever since.
Valve Index - Runs decently out of box, slightly lower framerate than expected.
Game runs slightly slower than expected, but it's still very playable.
Valve Index - Terrible performance
It's completely unusable due to the choppy framerate.
Valve Index - Works great out of box, after long initial load
Game took 5+ minutes to load up tutorial, from main menu, the first time I played. On subsequent plays, everything worked flawlessly.
Valve Index - Works flawlessly out of the box
I experienced zero problems loading up and playing.
Valve Index - Game doesn't load in VR mode at all
I believe the native version doesn't have VR support and the proton version wont run at all in VR mode.
Worked out of box on a valve index. Only minor knuckles controller issues that are probably on windows too.
Reload button was finicky and didn't always trigger, but that's probably poor support for the knuckles controller rather than a wine issues. Remapping the reload button would probably fix this (I haven't tried yet).
Game is very playable out of the box
Game runs somewhat poorly, but is still very playable, especially if you drop graphics settings.
Valve Index - Runs great once you turn down the resolution a bit.
Lower framerate than expected, given the hardware. It's still completely playable if you turn down the resolution a bit.
Valve Index - Terrible performance. Totally unplayable.
Game is totally unplayable due to constant frame stuttering.
Game loads up fine, and works fine (as far as I could tell), but the framerate is so poor that it's completely unplayable.
Valve Index - Works out of the box
There's no exit button anywhere, but that's not a proton issue. You just have to Alt+F4 or exit via the steam overlay.
Valve Index - VR doesn't work naively or in proton
Doesn't recognize VR when launched native, nor when launched via proton.
Valve Index - Game works great out of box, after very long initial loading
Music was crackly the first time I loaded the game, but it was totally fine on subsequent launches.
Game takes 10+ minutes to load up the first time, and any stage loading also takes a long, long while. On subsequent game plays, everything loads in a normal amount of time (10ish seconds, at most, on an SSD).
Valve Index - Game loads, but hangs indefinitely, fairly early on
Game hangs, near the beginning, when using the paper with a hole in it.
Valve Index - Game works out of box
Audio is crackly, but it's still clear enough to understand.
Game's framerate is a bit choppy, but it's still very playable, especially if you turn down the resolution.
