Game pretty much just works besides one strange memory issue.
Didnt like to let go when I tried changing workspaces (using i3)
Minor framedrops during gameplay and some cutscenes
Upon closing the game through the menu, it completely filled my memory, locked up my computer, and required a full restart to fix.
The game has a launcher that will only answer to touch or mouse. Can be avoided past the first launch.
The game runs flawlessly aside from its typical "mouse only launcher" that only needs to be opened on first launch. 90fps on Steam Deck Oled is perfectly attainable and doesn't bulge, at least on the first level. There aren't many graphics options (aside from a choice between FXAA and MSAA) but the framerate and TDP can be capped to pretty much whatever you want.
Crashes on the language selection screen
Played to completion, works perfectly.
Launcher window the first time which can be simply navigated using touchscreen, then will boot straight to the game for the rest. No issues.
Perfect
Plays smoothly without issues
Same as on Windows
All the issues you're going to experience are also on Windows. One of them is the tutorial only showing xbox 360 controller prompts even if youre playing with keyboard & mouse. Default controls are also pretty confusing but you can configure them to your liking any time in the game by pressing F11. Overall the game ran smoothly from beginning to end with no crashes or any bugs.
Plays very well, but crackling audio and having to exit/re-enter fullscreen through config menu when starting game are minor inconveniences
Very noticable crackling during FMV cutscenes.
With keyboard and mouse, when launching into fullscreen mouse will be limited to upper left quadrant. This can be fixed by entering config menu while ingame with F11, exiting fullscreen, and then re-entering fullscreen.
Plays perfectly as long as you're okay using the default gamepad layout. The launcher window is a minor, temporary inconvenience.
To get past the launcher window, you can use Steam + Right Touchpad / Right Trigger for temporary mouse control.
You shouldn't need to change any settings in the launcher since there are no graphics settings and the default gamepad setup works fine. If you'd rather use the touchpads for faster aiming, enable the WASD/Mouse layout or use a community configuration.
Controls well with default Gamepad configuration
First time launch requires secondary configuration window. Had to boot into Desktop mode on the Deck, but after that, can launch directly into the game in Gaming or Desktop modes. Future configuration of the game uses the same configuration window.
Runs and plays well with Xbox gamepad or keyboard/mouse
Runs great without tweaks. If you have an ultrawide monitor, you will need to edit an .ini file and PCGamingWiki.com has the config.
Runs perfectly OOTB.
Just a minor issue but when exiting the game through the title screen the screen turns black and he only way to get the game to close is to press any button on the controller, not sure if this is a Proton issue. Aside from that, the game runs with zero issues.
Game is basically plug-n-play, even on lower-end hardware.
Very little crackling; may be a result of my low-end hardware.
Played with Xbox One controller. Mouse and keyboard not tested, but should be fine, given other reports.
It runs very smoothly.
Runs well with controller
Mouse restricted to top left quadrant. Keyboard and controller (Xbox 360) work as expected
On first boot, it'll take you to the config menu, even if you select to launch into the game. Toggle an option, hit OK, stop the game, and then restart right into the game. Worked fine for me then.
Game works like a charm, mouse + keyboard OK. Audio OK. FPS OK. Fullscreen OK, no problems. Perfect.
When first launching the game it opens the "Configuration Tool" after i pressed Ok and closed the windows nothing happened. Opening htop showed me that the configuration utility was still running. After sending SIGTERM and closing the configuration utility the game automatically resumed and went full screen. No problems whatsoever after this. Been playing one hour straight
After recent proton updates, the game is 100% playable. However, there are still some minor bugs and kb+m does not work at all.
Mouse was confined to the top left region of the screen.
If you launch the config tool and then launch the game from there, it won't start. You need to launch the game first, then access the config from within the game itself.
Installs, but neither the config tool nor the game itself launch.
Occasionally it even fails to download at all. Overall a very finicky game that is impossible to use out of the box.
The menu screen and loading screen are perfect, but I couldn't see NPCs, characters, and the environment. Something went wrong with the game's graphic.
Works flawlessly with a controller. However, first person mouse aiming is not working. I can't find a fix for that anywhere right now.
Everything seems to work perfect except for the gun aiming when using the mouse. No issues at all playing with an Xbox One controller. The configuration tool doesn't launch.
I've been playing the game for the past 2 hours without an issue after this work around: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1975#issuecomment-439661405 But, I can't run this game if I try to use my Intel onboard card, It only works with my Nvidia's (Optimus notebook). Also, I can't run the configuration tool.
Neither the game nor the configuration tool launch, and no success with the workaround described at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1975#issuecomment-439661405
The game is unable to launch properly because it cannot generate a configuration file in Proton. Check the following url for a workaround: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1975#issuecomment-439661405
Unable to get past the language select screen
Game launches, but cannot get past language selection. Configuration tool does not work.
