Works right out of the box.
Works perfectly when I play with friends.
No problems at all. Plays identical to windows.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%

The game was played on an external screen with keyboard and mouse. I only played skirmishes and did not try the campaign or loading saved games. Watching replayes worked fine.
The game ran on Proton 7.0-4.
Sans problèmes en solo. Premier lancement un peu long mais ensuite pas de soucis.
Runs very well as long as you know how to get around the freeze bugs
Freezes game when loading save game
- Cut-scene videos in the campaign freeze the game [hit ESC to skip]
- Gets stuck on First Blood splash screen when starting [Quit this window and main game will start]
- Gets stuck when quitting [
pkill Steel
in a shell]
The game itself runs very well. You just need to know how to avoid the game freezing when loading a game, playing videos or quitting. These are easy to avoid/work around so you can still have a great time playing this game.
Steam launch option: PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1
seems that freezes during saves are solved with PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1
Game is playable out of the box, but must skip cut-scenes
Feezes when exiting game and crashes when loading a save game
Any beginning cut-scenes crashed the game. Must spam ESC-Key so that game menu/loading screen appears. Was able to finish the first campaign.
No major issues. Game is playable out-of-the-box.
Any beginning cut-scenes did not play. Must spam ESC-Key so that game menu/loading screen appears.
Loading Screen freezes when trying to start a match or campaign against AI or players. MP and SP. Empty Match is no problem.

It freeze before the main menu.
In first time the game menu appeared and then freezed while loading a tutorial. After that each time i start it it freezes before the game menu and i just see a small window of the game title and logo but freezed.

The game will hang during the pre-mission cutscenes, but you can skip them with the Escape key and after that it runs well. The only thing I've run into is the cursor switching from the ingame skin to the regular system cursor. This is a bit annoying because the color of the cursor gives you strategic information, but not too bad. Haven't figured out what causes it.

Sometimes the mouse icon becomes stale, i.e. issuing command (pressing y or so) won't change the cursor type. The mouse still works though, but it's a little annoying. Also videos on campaign mode do not play - the game freezes after a few secs of the campaign video. Make sure to skip them. Lastly, the game doesn't start - it gets stuck in the "ad" for their expansion. You have to forcefully close that.

The cursor reverted back to Linux cursor, thus not showing the cover quality, and after 30 minutes, the game muted. I did not find any easy solutions.

Skirmish runs fine, campaign freezes when intro video starts playing after 1-2 seconds. If you press escape as soon as video starts you can skip it and play campaign as usual.

One of my more regularly played games and can confirm it works perfectly out-of-the-box.

No issues in Skirmish mode. Played on High specs.

Buggy. Can't run campaign mode, game freezes when playing intro video. Tutorial and skirmish mode are working with some crashes when returning from game session to the menu. Tried Nvidia 415 driver, 396, windowed mode, same problem.

Performance was okay, usually crashed on quit to desktop but after some graphics settings adjustments (which one I don't know) it runs better

Already successfully tested on Pop!_OS 18.04, I confirm now that it's running smooth, full screen, high video settings, on Ubuntu 18.10 with Proton 3.7-8, NVIDIA 410.73, kernel 4.18.0-10. No tweak.

Video options preset set to High, works great at full screen 1920x1080. Skirmish was tested. When driver was 396.24 I couln'd run it full screen, nor with Tesselation, now I can!

Sometimes requires a force-close to get past splash. Reducing graphical settings helps.

I had to put the option Tesselation to off otherwise I was getting graphical glitches. The performance is inferior to Windows but it is running fine.

Game freezing all the time even in windowed mode

Windowed is good, but not full screen. If full screen it freeze. With some tweakings, the game is playable and good looking. Sound is good.Video settings lowered : No Vert sync, Texture Anisotropy Off, Shadow anti-aliasing Off, Tesselation Off, No Smooth LOD tr, No Motion Blur, Ambient Occlusion Off, Global Illumination Off, Local Reflections Off. Other settings medium to high.
