Like previous modern entries, the COD launcher doesn't work
New MW, MW2, and BO6 all use the same "Call Of Duty" launcher in Steam, which has exclusively "borked" reports. Downloaded new BO6 with same result.
Didn't launch of default/expiramental. Switched to Proton-8.x. Worked fine after that.
Lots of concrete bogs down Windows, but it's particularily noticible on linux
They broke Proton support a couple patches back and spent dedicated time fixing it and had it patched back up within a week.
Worked great.
Only issue was that on tiling window managers (sway, i3, etc), having the game on a seperate window while it started up broke the main menu and buttons wouldn't work. Once in a world changing windows had no problems.
Some mods (notably RBM) don't work. Diplomacy works with forced dotnet 472
Expiramental/GE had major graphical issue (black bloom fills the screen and nothing can be seen after a few seconds). Only major issue is that none of the shop/battle pass purchase options work, can't support the game.
Delete font_e.ttf from the main game folder.
Couldn't get the font fixed, but the guy that suggested "deleting the file: font_e.ttf from the main game folder." was on point, and the game runs flawlessly now.
First hour results look promising and stable!
Anything above medium led to multi-second lag spikes despite overall graphical smoothness. Medium is running flawlesslessly.
15+ hours of play, occasional crashes. But certain scenes, typically in space/space stations, introduce frequent and consistent crashes.
Good game, needs a bit more tuning, but I enjoyed it. See note on stability issues about starting game under tiling window managers.
Using i3, game would crash if window was focused during photosensitivity warning. Forcing app to a different screen until intro cutscene starts and game works fine.
Crashes as soon as main menu loads
Unable to get to work. Tested proton7, 8, 9, expiramental, GE, all safemode and the recommendation to delete the video files. Always crashes when the main menu loads.
Early Access Release Doesn't Launch
win32 funntion failed a call into Graphics_DisplayM.cpp. Tried all versions of Proton in steam and Proton-GE
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Required command and install of lib32-nvidia-utils.
