Without Lyall's fix, it works well. Though i would recommend it as it brings a lot of enhancements to the game.
env WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
I recommend using Lyall's Fix (https://github.com/Lyall/BerserkFix)
The launch options are only required when using the fix.

Go into protontricks, select Berserk, select default wine prefix, run winecfg, change windows version from 10 to 7
The game runs around 30fps, probably due to it being poorly optimized
Without tinkering the game has annoying issues, such as being prompted to switch to windows 7 compatibility mode every time you boot the game up, screen size issues and missing video or audio (or both) from cutscenes.
Forced windows 7 compatability
By default doesn't work. Need to force windows 7 through winetricks. Various versions of proton after will work, cutscenes work on experimental but with no audio, switching to Proton 8.0-5 keeps cutscene and audio, game works well ~40fps
GST_PLUGIN_FEATURE_RANK=protonaudioconverterbin:NONE %command%
In protontricks, select the game, then select "Select the default wineprefix", and then Run winecfg. Then, select Windows 7 instead of 10 in Applications tab -> Windows version.
At each beginning of cutscene, there's a sound cue that doesn't happen in Windows.
Using Steam flatpak and Protontricks also flatpak. Game opens and runs. I'm on the (spoiler) mission where you're going to the tower of conviction, so I think it's safe to say that the game won't have any problems later on.
Ge-proton to fix cutscene playback, launch command to fix audio during cutscenes, winecfg windows 7 to get rid of nag message, profit!
GST_PLUGIN_FEATURE_RANK=protonaudioconverterbin:NONE %command%
winecfg set windows 7
works on deck too!
Switched to win 7 Prefix
Medium-High Settings 40Hz
Current Proton Experimental Build fixes missing Audio during Cutsceenes.
small text in game interface
cutscenes are bugged cant be played
i installed proton GE FIRSTthen forced game run proton experimental
Some issues, but the game is still playable if you're willing to put up with them.
FPS will drop whenever a bunch of enemies are on screen. This is probably because of the shoddy PC port.
Starting the game with movies enabled causes the game to crash after the initial logos. Turning off movies from the launcher prevents this from happening.
When starting the game, it'll ask if you want to run it on Windows 7 compatibility mode. When you do, the game says it has enabled compatibility mode and closes itsef, saying that changes are applied after restarting the game. Starting the game again, it'll keep asking you the same thing, so starting without Windows 7 compatibility mode is the only way to get the game to start.
Force Windows 7 compatibility
Game resolution starts low on the first bootup, can be changed in settings
Cutscene audio doesn't play
Hopefully someone finds a fix for the missing cutscene audio!
Force to run in Windows 7 mode
Cutscenes audio is completely missing
Performance drops in bigger crowds though not sure if this occurs on windows as well.
protontricks 502280 win7
proton-ge doesn't seem to fix the movie playback issues. Movies had to be disabled in the launcher to avoid crashing.
When running proton-ge the menus also would automatically scroll to the bottom grid row (for items and equipment), but this behavior does not occur on Proton Experimental.
Enabled win7 mode via protontricks since the game had a message at start saying it would run better in win7 compatibility mode.
Video playback crashes the game
Works really well, make sure to turn video playback off
Video playback causes a crash
Video playback is the only issue with this game and proton, thankfully it's very easy to turn off.
When launching the game click open launcher then from there make sure video playback is set to off. Other than that this game runs flawlessly.
The game works great. But in the game options you should turn off the movie.
If the game does not start immediately on Proton 5.0-3 you should run it on proton 4.11-12 the first time. I had this problem. Then it also worked great on Proton 5.0-3. I do not know why. See how to set it on video https://youtu.be/YIhgrM7hUds
The game works perfectly with Proton 4.11-12 and Proton 5.0-3
If game doesn't start on Proton 5.0-3 change it to Proton 4.11-12 (Only for the first run) remember disable movie playblack in game launcher options.
Everything is visible on the video, how to set options on proton 4.11-12 and 5.0-3 (at the end of the video). https://youtu.be/YIhgrM7hUds
I can't belive this is working. Only needed to open conguration settings (runs with no issue) and disable movie playblack. Same performance as windows or maybe better. 10/10
I can't belive this works! Only thing you need to do is edit the configuration file and disable movie playback. If you install it by proton 4.2-2, you will get native access to configuration file with no issues. 10/10
crashes after loading the save
The game allows to choose or create a save game but it won't start after that. The screen becomes grey for a second, then it closes completely. I tried to disable esync, to disable d3d11 or to use wine d3d11 but the game still crashes.
My steam controller is picked up and works in the menu, but the button layout seems weird.
