Some details were a bit small on this screen, and TDP limit is a must if playing from battery
Had to limit the TDP, otherwise the game ate through the battery like a heavy AAA title
XDG_DATA_HOME=/home/deck/.local/share/(your name here) %command%
TDP to 7 or 8, otherwise fan runs loud
Book of rites uses a stylized font that is hard to read sometimes
Obtained from itch.io through the racial justice bundle. Runs identical to Proton. Completed a full playthough. For the itch.io version when running native, adding XDG_DATA_HOME=/home/deck/.local/share/(your name here) %command%
to launch options will allow for separate profiles per steam account. This is not required since there are multiple save slots, but certain settings will be shared otherwise. The fan runs high by default but editing TDP is also not required.
Run as non-steam game from itch.io, works fine
TDP to 7 or 8, otherwise fan runs loud
Book of rites uses a stylized font that is hard to read sometimes
Obtained from itch.io through the racial justice bundle. Beat the game without issue. Proton runs identical to native version. TDP tinker is conpletely optional functionality-wise, but the fan does run quite high without it. Non-steam game version specific (not unique to Pyre): don't remove the game from your library without backing up your saves or else they get deleted along with the proton prefix. Ask me how I know.
Beat the whole game with no issues, works out the box on Deck
Works perfectly fine, but you will need to restart your computer after a play session if on KDE.
Broke several elements of KDE like task switcher and compositing requiring a restart to fix. Using keyboard buttons to change volume, brightness, etc is blocked during gameplay.
Fabulous fantasy sports game in a wonderfully detailed world. Highly recommend.
Dropped TDP down to 8 watts, and GPU frequency to 800. Gave me quite a bit of battery life and still played at 60 fps.
Very rarely the game will lose the cursor, requiring a restart of the game.
Unoptimized and heavy on CPU. Eats battery heavily. Applies to both native and WIndows version via Proton.
Like Supergiant's other games, this one works great on Deck.
As others have noted, the game seems to draw more power during the overworld portions of the game than during the "actual gameplay." I can't turn heads or tails of it either, but the game still runs well in spite of this.
Runs great on Steam Deck
Framerate limited to 30
As others have stated it drains the battery very quickly. I set the framerate limit to 30, and GPU and battery usage drops significantly with no noticeable change to the game. The fan goes from a jet at takeoff to a gentle summer breeze.
Ran perfectly
Only played a few hours when I still wanted to play after my deck ran out of battery, but the few hours I did play went perfect. No issues experienced
Ran perfectly, though drains battery surprisingly fast.
Everything ran perfectly and I didn't have any issues, other than battery life.
For some reason on the main map screen or in the wagon my deck was always going at full blast. Even at full battery the estimate was only roughly 2 hours. But when getting into the actual gameplay, the rites, the battery estimate would go back up, doubling to around 4 hours. I wouldn't expect this, as outside of the rites the game is pretty much just a very pretty visual novel, but I couldn't find a fix for this. turning on the power limiter for the CPU just drops the FPS to 15. oh well
Runs Flawlessly on Steam Deck
Lovely experience on Steam Deck out of the box.
Works seamlessly, except for controller support.
My PS5 controller is detected by Steam, but the game doesn't seem to detect it properly - the touch pad is detected, but none of the buttons or joysticks are.
trackpad mouse was too fast
mouse trackpad too fast
Works flawlessy other than the disabling mouse and keyboard input, you'll be good to go.
Using the touchscreen may break the controls, make the switch into keyboard&mouse mode and you can't go back unless you restart.
Surprised why it is not Verified yet.
Worked flawlessly on Steam Deck default install
I installed on Steam Deck by just clicking the 'Install' button on Steam, so I don't know if the native Linux version was used or the Windows version with Proton. Either way the game worked apparently flawlessly. I played ~6 hours on the Deck, about the last 1/3 of the game. Played 3 Liberation rites, probably 10-15 rites in total, and watched the ending sequence. I had no performance, audio, video, or control problems.
The native port did not boot at all, however runs fun through Proton.
Does not load
Not good enough. The occasional frame drops are too heavy, the sound it's just bad.
Sound haves some issues. It's hard to tell exactly what's happening, but it seems when multiple sound effects are playing the compression doesn't work properly and the sound haves some annoying ups and downs in the volume.
Game has run smoothly most of the time, but I've had some very hard framdrops on the rites, for a few moments makes it unplayable to the point I've lost a rite due to performance.
Tried running it on proton 3 and 4, but it didn't even launch.
