Good game, few issues
If your headphones aren't first on the list of selectable audio devices the audio just doesn't work for some reason
game runs about ~20-30fps regardless of graphics options.
Although I would like better performance, for this kind of game a low fps is perfectly fine and the game is still enjoyable.
Native doesn't work, runs fine with Proton
When trying to start the game using the native version it just doesn't launch. The play icon turns blue for a split second then goes back to a regular green Play button as if nothing happened. Works completely fine using proton though.
In the first level just lowering the shadows one level from max would get me decent fps. Eventually once the levels got bigger and longer though, even setting everything to low would only get me ~30 fps.
Although maybe playable if you reduce the resolution, I just find this unacceptable. There are other boomer shooters that are both better and don't have massive performance issues, such as dusk, amid evil, or ultrakill.
Works Fine
Might've just been coincidental with some other issues with my pc, but after installing I needed to restart my pc or else the game just wouldn't launch.
After getting it to start up, everything went fine. Noticed no issues.
A bit of stuttering, but I think that's just OMORI being OMORI. Fixed after installing OMOCEP Lite, the community enchancement pack. Highly recommend
All good
gamemoderun mangohud DXVK_ASYNC=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 LFX=1 __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 %command%
After the GPU utilization drops the fur looks a bit weird, like it's been put through an upscaling filter even though I turned off the FSR and DLSS options, and my resolution was 1080p like my monitor.
Starting up the game, the initial loading screen has about 200+ fps. After reading the final part of the loading, suddenly my FPS drops to 15 and my GPU utilization drops to ~10%.
I've tried restarting my PC, turning off the steam overlay, adding a ton of launch options, and switching proton versions, whether experimental, GE, or older versions. This issue still persists. I simply can't enjoy playing a game like this at 15fps no matter how good it is.
Singleplayer ran perfectly well without any issues, was a great experience. I didn't try the coop mode on the steam deck though, so I can't vouch for that.
Everything ran perfectly and I didn't have any issues, other than battery life.
For some reason on the main map screen or in the wagon my deck was always going at full blast. Even at full battery the estimate was only roughly 2 hours. But when getting into the actual gameplay, the rites, the battery estimate would go back up, doubling to around 4 hours. I wouldn't expect this, as outside of the rites the game is pretty much just a very pretty visual novel, but I couldn't find a fix for this. turning on the power limiter for the CPU just drops the FPS to 15. oh well
Ran perfectly
Only played a few hours when I still wanted to play after my deck ran out of battery, but the few hours I did play went perfect. No issues experienced
To get workshop mods to work use protontricks -> select rain world -> when winetricks opens use it to open winecfg -> change windows version to windows 7 -> in libraries add winhttp as a new override. (Thanks to RowanSkie for finding this in his report)
occasionally when coming out of a pipe as gourmand the playermodel would stretch across the screen for a frame or two, but tbh I doubt it's a linux issue
Had to turn on controller before starting up game to get it to detect, but overrall great.
Experienced no issues playing through as survivor and gourmand. Workshop mods need a bit of tinkering to get working but is pretty easy.
Pretty much flawless.
One cutscene in the middle of the game didn't have audio, but besides that no other audio issues. Didn't miss much anyway, was really short and just watched it on youtube.
Sometimes the map would just freeze when opening it and wouldn't let me move the perspective. still able to close and reopen it though. Fixing required restart. Also, like halfway through the game, one of the popup things telling me that I picked up an upgrade got stuck on my screen and was pretty much glued to the save. Restarting and reloading didn't get rid of it, only starting a new game would.
No idea if these issues are linux specific, but they're what I experienced
For some reason the camera only moves with mouse movements past a certain threshhold, so looking around can sometimes feel juttery if trying to move your view small amounts. Besides that, a pretty good experience.
Works perfectly fine, no real issues.
No Fullscreen in options, starts windowed for me. Alt+enter works to make it fullscreen though.
fun game ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Changed left joystick to 4-way instead of 8-way so no overlap. Also rebound the shoulder, back buttons, and d-pad to the game's ability buttons
works fine on deck. have fun ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Couldn't find a fullscreen option in settings. When I forced fullscreen with alt+enter it left me with black bars at the top and bottom.
Before switching back to an older proton version, on certain maps I would occasionally suddenly drop to 1 or 2 fps until I ran to the edge of the map and just stared into nothing. I found that whenever I looked back at the map (and my fps dropped) my CPU usage also dropped. I have no clue what's going on, but it went away after switching to proton 7.0-6.
The performance in general isn't as good as I would expect with my hardware, but I haven't tried the game on windows so I can't be sure if that's a linux issue.
Sometimes when trying to join a world (even your own home) the game would give an error saying something like the world type isn't compatible. Sometimes trying again it would work, or sometimes I would need to restart the game. A couple of times my friend's portal to another server also wouldn't show up. Additionally, sometimes I would need to open and close the menu with esc to get my push-to-talk key to work again.
