normal settings and fsr

The game stops working and closes
At a certain point, when trying to start the game comes out this error "previous release was not successful"

If PhysX is enabled, the frame rate is reduced to 15 frames per second. There is also a loss of frames in scenes with a lot of smoke on Proton 8.0-4, but this is possible individually for me
Perhaps all of the above is treated with modifications, core replacement and fine-tuning individually on each PC. But the average gamer just wants to install and play. We need to go in this direction.

After disabling Physix X in settings the game runs smoth with over 140 FPS. /compatdata/43160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/4A Games/Metro LL//user.cfg
r_api 2
ph_advanced_physX 0
Unsure if setting DirectX API Version to 11 changed something. Additional Information to these values: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Metro:_Last_Light
With older pipewire it works. Unsure if version 0.3.71 is broken as it also breaks my mic in other games.
Had to disable PhysX. Getting only 10-15 FPS without it.
Game runs poorly with PhysX enabled on my AMD card which is to be expected. Turning off PhysX and keeping everything else turned up plays excellently at 3440x1440.
Native: scrollwheel to switch weapons didn't work
Switching to proton experimental wiped my save; take backups before switching
The native version runs fine, but has significant stability problems. Running in proton sees signfiicant performance drops, particularly on cutscenes for some reason?
Native: The game started crashing when getting deeper into the campaign. Regularly crashes when trying to load it for the first time. Switching to proton appears to have sorted out most of them, though at the expense of performance problems
Native: gamma doesn't work, gameplay seems unresponsive for some reason I can't quite put my finger on
It's worth emphasising that the native stability issues mainly grew as I got further into the game. I got a few hours out of it before it became unplayable

PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 this fixes the audio crackle
Native works perfect but it mess with the controller inputs, it keeps rotating the camera, wrong inputs and wrong main Monitor screen that i can't change at all.
Proton Experimental works perfect and it fits my main Monitor just fine, i had to change some settings because of performance hits, i recommend removing SSAO for performance and PHYSX (they were hitting the performance hard) i noticed that my frames dropped from 60 fps to 40-50 fps.
for FPS games now i don't use controller input because of the gyro, so i always set up the mouse + keyboard buttons on my controller, it works really well and didn't have any problem.

My settings:
•Resolution - 1152x720 (Then squeeze the three dots, go to performance and turn on the scaling filter on the FSR.)
•Quality - Very high
•SSAA - Off
•Texture filtering - AF 16X
•Motion blur - Low
•Tessellation - Very high
•V-Sync - On
Then you need to go into game options and turn off advanced physx.
Did not start with proton. native one startet with less than 1 fps
testet from 3.7 trough 8.0-2 nothing happend
corefonts install
In some pieces of the game the rate changes from 40-50 to 10-20 fps

Some parts run at 7 to 15 FPS, regardless of settings. The actual gameplay with combat tends to runs fine going in the 100+ FPS on lower settings
Current experimental fixes the sound/subtitles/no graphics options issues for me It's playable, if a bit frustrating when the FPS drops at seemingly random points
In the default setting, the input and output of each button do not match. In Protn (experimental, 8.0-2 and 7.0-6), it works poorly. When playing on low settings, the FPS does not maintain 40, and in fact, throughout the gameplay, starting from the beginning and playing for about 10 minutes, most scenes only reach 10~20 FPS.
The graphical elements are missing.
The fixed layout is still scuffed and button prompts do not appear, instead keyboard keys. If you got used to and memorised the inputs it would be playable, but certainly not an enjoyable experience.
Still needs steam controller support to be playable
Would be playable with a mouse and keyboard
Starts well (with Steam Linux Runtime)
Played Linux Native version with Steam Linux Runtime.
Without enabling Steam Linux Runtime has no sound and music.
SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa %command%
you can fix it by creating a file called .asoundrc
in your home directory using
touch ~/.asoundrc
then edit the file using a text editor of your choice with the following:
type hw
card 0
device 0
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 0
}
Then open up a terminal and run aplay -l
you'll get an output like this:
$> aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: ALC892 Analog [ALC892 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 1: ALC892 Digital [ALC892 Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
if you have multiple audio devices or sound cards, pick the one among these and replace card 0
with card 1
or device 0
with device 1
according to your needs
This should fix everything
on KDE sometimes if you alt tab from the game your bottom panel persists and the game won't go back to fullscreen unless you force your panel to auto hide
steam input and the steam deck hardware incompatible!
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command%
I don't have audio in the native version, I tried to add the launch parameter SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pipewire and SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pulse and SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa but I couldn't get it to work. Redux works without any problems, but I wanted to go back to this one to get the achievements.
prime-run %command%
game is too dark; adjusting brightness doesn't change anything
stuttering and screen tearing; looks like vsync is not working
60 FPS. Runs solid
You can't change screen resolution in-game, only video setting is one quality slider for changing from low to high.
Runs flawlessly.

Good work
