Apart from the Windowed mode issue the game works just fine and plays like it did from its original release. No noticable issues.
In order to launch the game I needed to edit the user.cfg (under steamapps/common/Creatures Docking Station/Docking Station/). Editing the fullscreen line from 0 to 1, as in Windowed mode the game would complain about 16-bit color mode and fail to start.
Windowed mode does not work as it will give a 16-bit color mode error.
Overall it works from a single player offline perspective, as it allows you play locally with friends or complete the story mode.
The intro movie is broken, with the video being positioned left on the screen, and streching from the edge to the other edge of the screen.
While I was able to access the lobby and see other avatars moving around, any attempt to join a match caused it to disconnect immediately.
Local multiplayer worked as intended.
Playing using steams basic settings causes the game to crash on launch
Works generally out of the box, beware if you play on multiple devices with different settings.
Steam cloud support appears to also save the graphics settings, having to change them each time you swap from PC to the Steam Deck
Played with the Ghost Master Complete Edition Mod for widescreen, higher display resolutions and bug fixes
Input would not work if displayed on a secondary display
Slow down using the basic game. This is known issue since release.
Standard bugs in the basic game. Most fixed using the Complete Edition mod
The game "works" as it did with the original release OS and hardware, however there are engine related bugs which cause slow downs. The game is also restricted to 4:3 resolutions.
These issues can be resolved by installing the Ghost Master: Complete Edition mod which fixes many bugs, improves general support, restores cut content, adds further modding as well as allow higher widescreen compatible resolutions.
While in the current status it is low resolution, being 240p in a 1080p window, it is fully playable
Generally works as normal, the only issue is on a 1080p screen the text can be hard to read, and look lower quality. Mods also work.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="client,Server=n" PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% --MOD GeoTWAM
Poor quality text, improved slightly by editing the dialogs.gml to give a larger font size
The game appears fully playable after tinkering, however this may be untrue later in the game
-game Unofficial_Patch
Installed the Unofficial patch via running the exe directly from wine, and pointing the installer at the install location
If on newer versions of proton or proton-ge, than the one listed on this post, after the splash screens, you will be met with a black screen
Swapping screens using shift+super to a secondary display will not allow you to interact via the mouse until you move it back to the primary display
Swapping screens using shift+super to a secondary display will not allow you to interact via the mouse until you move it back to the primary display
Launching as is will launch the game and give you a black screen after the splash screens.
Crashes shortly after the first cutscene starts, may have been caused by recent update
Crashes as the unskippable cutscene starts, ge doesn't work, experimental doesn't work, and removing/swapping the mp4 file doesn't work.
