WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b" gamemoderun mangohud %command%
as there is no steam cloud saving, saves can easily be lost if not backed up manually
2 problems:
as network requests are currently single-threaded, lobbies with a lot of people (10+) cause significant performance issues. only real fix for this is downloading a mod (personally using Calico) which splits up those requests into multiple threads
the second problem seems to be a memory leak of sorts in the game where sessions running for an extended period of time cause a major performance loss, but a game restart is enough to fix it
spent a good 200 hours to 100% the game and met a lot of lovely new people, overall a great socializing game with fishing moreso meant as a minigame on the side

LD_PRELOAD="/usr/lib/libgamemode.so" gamemoderun MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=144 mangohud --dlsym %command%
Game has ass optimization so it will look 60fps all the time, but it is an acceptable framerate, and not everyone has a 60hz> monitor, so for those, it would look ideal. The very long launch option doesn't really matter, it's what i just put in every game. gamemoderun will make some games more optimized, and mangohud shows you fps and hardware stats, so it's definitely not necessary. Make the water quality low because it for some reason massively increases framerate (as shown by only mangohud, cause everything still seemed 60fps-y)
Worked great out of the box
Only issues are also present on Windows

Works perfectly on Linux. Great game to relax and meet people!

Install and Play.

The game is terribly unoptimized. Very frequently jumps from 60 FPS down to 10 or even lower with the lowest settings.
Some text is too small to read on the Steam Deck
Keyboard and mouse is recommended
The game runs very poorly, with drops down to 5 FPS
Can't recommend the game as is it. Even with a 3rd party optimization mod (from Thunderstore) Webfishing runs poorly.

The game works great after installation
Once installed, the game does not require additional configurations

Runs poorly, fails to render numbers
Numbers often fail to render
Not as bad as before, but still there
The performance got better recently, but the same update made the numbers start disappearing more often

Game works right out of the box!
This game is a great time with friends. All has went without a hitch.
No noticeable difference from my experience on the native windows.

Came up with my own layout. Not shared.
I found the text to be small across the UI. Sharp enough that you can read it, but you have to get the device up to your face.
This game has a problem that I also found in Guild Wars: I've set the capacitive touch of the right stick to activate the RMB so I can move the camera seamlessly without having to hold anything else. This causes the FPS to drop noticeably for a moment and it happens consistently. Doesn't make the game unplayable, but it is annoying. Locking the FPS to 30 didn't completely mitigate this, but it did make it less noticeable.
Not cloud support at this time. Hopefully will change later.
This game struggles on my PC in populate lobbies, so it'd make sense that the Deck would struggle more. Furthermore, there's no cloud support, so you'll either have two separate save files or you'll have to transfer the file back and forth if you play on another device.
Wouldn't recommend playing this on the Deck in general due to performance, but also because it lacks controller support (which brings other problems, see above) and typing with the on-screen keyboard is quite the hassle. You might have an OK time if you have a dock, but it'll perform better on a gaming laptop or a proper PC.

No issues found

Changed bumper button behavior to control camera zoom in-game.

It like how it runs everywhere else.
I have a friend with a high-end PC on Windows and his computer can barely handle a full lobby. It's an issue with the game and not the platform.
Works perfectly without tinkering.

overall is enjoyable and absoloutely playable. The one time i had serious framerate issues it was fixed by just restarting the game.
Framerate drops at times when there are many players on screen all doing stuff

1. The game only uses a single core 2. The game isn't even made to be able to be played on linux. 3. Even on windows, its not optimized well
Just VERY poor and frequent fps dips
The game won't use multiple cores. Inconsistent FPS even on my main pc (windows) (in general) The game preforms poor when there are more than about 8 players THIS GAME IS NOT PATATO PC APPROVED (I know its sad but its true :( ) Great game if you have a good pc also you'll need a pretty good cpu in order to run well with more players.
Settings: low render dystance low pixel filter capped at 30 fps (didnt at ALL reach this) Vsync off
Other info: I got about 5 ish fps 100% CPU and RAM usage Good game, maybe it isnt made for the low end pc's
I recommend that you use AntiLag by gayteam (it needs NotNet-GDWeave to be installed to work.) and NLag by meepso
Nlag makes use of multi cores and AntiLag just optimizes the game!

No problems due to Proton, game will install and run fine like it would on Windows.
Maybe it's due to low performance, but sometimes my inputs were "sticky" and had some latency to them, which means my character would continue walking forward for minutes even after I would stop pressing forward on keyboard
Game has really bad performance considering its graphics and style, but maybe it is really like this because of my hardware

Runs even better than it did on win11. Mods still work fine but good luck getting a mod manager to work haha. I just did it all manually which shouldnt be abnormal to you if youre using linux anyways.

Game never launched on Wayland. Swapped to X11 and had no issues. Game seems a bit heavy on the GPU despite how it looks, otherwise no problems at all.

this was an absolute hassle to get running again, i wouldnt suggest it unless you have like 30 minutes to set aside and REALLY want to fish again
for me, the effort was worth it, it may not be the same for you
tldr:
- install steam for windows from the lutris website (https://lutris.net/games/steam/)
- set up steam and run steam.exe via winetricks if lutris didnt autostart it
- locate (or install) webfishing
- dont bother porting your save file, itll most likely not work
- click play and return to your life of fishing

Install and play
No tinkering, no bugs and no crashes. Perfect out of the box

Perfect OOTB 👍
Seems to run fine for most folks, dunno why it's Gold [Nov'24]
works fine out of the box

Works like a charm.
Use Wayland if you're using Arch.

Runs completely fine
Played for 10 hours so far and have encountered no issues.

having more plays kills your frams to the low 20s regardless of hardware
