did not launch
Works out of the box
Like this game because it comes out it has a Sochi circuit
It's nice to see a AAA game running out of the box on Linux.
Little FPS drops on some tracks
One time it crashed when I did time trial first instead of quick race
Overall it's a good enough experience
gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Starts up and runs perfectly. Ran on big picture mode 3440x1440p ultrawide resolution no problem. Dualsense controller working fine. Using Wayland
Does not launch (R6025 pure virtual function call)
Tried manually installing vc 2010-2015 and various dotnet versions. dotnet installs all failed, vc installs didn't help.
I tried every version of Proton available, and every attempt to launch the game either did nothing at all, or showed that error. The native version also does not launch.
Game wouldn't start.
Pressing "Play" on Steam just makes the game load for about a second and nothing hapens.
If it wasn't for the small text, this would be a verified Steam Deck game
No games were available on a weekday at 2PM EST, but was able to quickly join an empty lobby with no issues
Used the settings from previous commenter and it works beautifully; no issues with the game resetting the base settings. To add to their comment, you can crank the AA and AF all the way up. For people that can't see (or can't use for one reason or another) Wuschel +9's Imgur link, here are the specs:
Detail Preset (for most settings:) High
Motion Blur Strength (optional:) 0-100%
Particles: Medium
Vehicle Reflections: Medium
Weather Effects: Medium
Runs very well, stable and still looks pretty good. You have to manually change the permissions of the hardware config files though.
Had to change the permissions for both hardware configuration files (steamapps/compatdata/286570/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/documents/my games/F1 2015/hardwaresettings) so the game is allowed to change them. Otherwise the game defaults the graphics details always to the low preset and 800x600 with no AA and AF enabled every time you start the game.
These settings will give you stable 60 FPS even in the rain. https://imgur.com/a/njalKvT
The game works fine with the native version, but with proton and adding the -vulkan flag on the steam parameters, the performance is identical to windows, at least on my system.
El juego funciona bien con la versión nativa, pero utilizando Proton y añadiendo además la bandera -vulkan en los parámetros de Steam, se logra un rendimiento idéntico al que se obtiene en Windows.
It runs much better with Proton than the native port by Feral. The native port is unplayable for me at 17FPS maximum, while with Proton it is at a stable 30FPS, and up to 60 (capped) in menus. I think Vulkan has to do with good performance of Proton.
Works on Proton with DXVK
Game works native on Linux with OpenGL. On Proton it works out of the box too with DXVK on Vulkan.
Game doesn't start at all. I try start both in native mode and in steam play (proton 4.11-12).
Used Proton 4.11-3 with DXVK, higher performance on medium settings than native version on low end GPU, only ran benchmarks yet.
